I would say always better to have experience, especially now as retrogression is delaying and if it takes you a few years to get to the US how can you explain no experience

Actually better to get experience in another country first, the nursing in the Philippines is very different from what you will find in the US, and especially in California.
And with a several year wait to get a visa, it will be much harder for you without having any experience.
Right now, one cannot just come to the US and expect to wait for a visa, there are none available.

You didn't mention if you already have a greencard. IF you have, better get your experience in US, if you dont, try to look for experience here as it would take you quite some time to go there...

Having an experience is good. But getting it here from the Philippines won't really matter that much. Since, most of our hospitals are way behind when it comes to technology and know how. I remember a group of nurses from the states trying to set up a seminar here in the Phils to show nurses here the new medical equipments you have there but unfortunately the seminar did'nt push through due to time constraints. I was really eager to attend this seminar but i think they will have it next year instead.
