Beth Israel Nursing School NYC

Published

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone applied to Beth Israel NYC for this coming Fall? I applied there and I really want to get in. I always wanted to go. If anyone knows if it's hard to get in, or what score they are looking for on the NLN exam that would be rally helpful. And is it true that the only start giving interviews in May????

Hi guys,

I've been happily reading through most of the threads. It's great to hear of your progress, strategies, and commitment in getting in. I'm in a dilemma. I'm near the end of the admission process with Monroe CC and I'm trying to decide whether I should wait and apply to Beth Israel and possibly College of Mt. Saint Vincent. As we all know, there are no guarantees in getting in the other two. I'm not a recent graduate of HS and I almost completed my undergraduate studies at Brooklyn College. I didn't graduate and my GPA is below a 2.0. I spoke with both admission staff at Beth Israel and Mt. Saint Vincent and I've been told that I should include an explanation in my personal statement regarding my GPA. Well, the dilemma is that if I am unable to defer my admission to Monroe, then I can possibly missed the opportunity of getting in any where.

what is your opinion of these schools? Is it worth waiiting on Beth Israel or Mt. Saint Vincent. BTW, it's possible I can be considered for mt. Saint Vincent entrance in January 2010. Any one heard of Monroe and where are the students now????

Desperately seeking some advice from those who have navigated through this process, those who might have done something differently and those who might have an answer on how best to choose the right program.

Best Regards,

NLN -RN Student

hi i can really use some help advice?? i really want to get into Beth Israel but my GPA is terrible and part of the addmission process from what i read was a gpa of 2.5 or higher! :( i know for sure that by FALL 2010 my GPA will be at that level!!! But my question is, " is there a Spring 2011'??? or they only accept students once in the Fall semester?? Trying to get into a Nursing school has been sooo difficult for me, due to the fact that i am such a mess when it comes to Pre Nursing exams!!! Test anxiety really gets the best of me, but i would like to hear from you all in giving me advice in anyways possible :) Thanks Have a blessed day:redbeathe

I also applied to Beth Israel for this Fall. I'm taking the NLN exam on Jan 25th. I'm so nervous. Good luck to all who are taking the exam.

Has anyone else applied to Beth Israel for Fall 2010? I'm playing the waiting game for my nln results and for acceptance into their program. I have everything crossed...lol.

Julie,

I applied for Beth Israel for Fall 2010. From what I understand they only accept applications once a year. Deadline is April 1st whether you want the Fall program or the Spring part time program. Hope this helps.

i was wondering if anyone who is in the program now would give any insight on PDA use? Do any of you really think you need it? Is it actually helpful? I have an interview at PBISN tomorrow and I'm really so excited. Like the rest of you I really want to go to this school - in fact it's the only nursing school I applied to since I would like to continue working full time....=)

Hi,

I have also applied for the Fall and got a call this morning. I have to go for an interview on Monday, April 19th. Anyone can please brief me on what to expect on the interview? I am really nervous :uhoh3:

Thank you very much!

-Marbella

welcome marbella and congrats on the interview! what program are you applying for?

it's a pretty informal interview and there is another thread in this forum from previous years regarding the interview questions. but it's pretty similar to any other interview--asking questions about you. they are all very nice. what does it mean to be a nurse,...hmmm i can't really remember any other questions! lol i already had a 2nd interview (since i'm applying for ATOP/evening) so they kind of have blended into one... Good luck!!

Congratulations Marbella! That is great news! :yeah: Like Starlette said, look at old threads from last year. The students really give you a good idea of what to expect.

Thank you for your replies :) --

I am applying to the Day Program - I wonder how long after the interview they'll let us know if we are accepted...
