Best/Worst Jobs Before Nursing?

Best and only job before nursing was working in department store, got respect, good hours, able to do lots of fun things(making easter baskets, baby layettes, etc from scratch). Started nursing at 18 so never did anything else.

Best job: Doing the makeup for makeovers in The Body Shop (#1) on Oxford Street in London with the guy who does it professionally for Madam Tussaud 's

Worst Job: Working in a Turkish cafe in London as a waitress and the girls consistently gossiping about me behind my back in Turkish and thinking that I wouldn't understand - hahahh my father is Turkish and I knew every word that passed their lips. I am very fair (pale) and everyone thinks I am either Sweedish, Dutch or Norweign. I reminded me of a good lesson that my mum taught me - you never know who knows who, or what they themselves know, so DON'T gossip. (in the public arena anyway).

I too was constantly getting proposed marriage to, but i thought it was sweet because at least the guys in the kitchen were nice! Geez, times must have been bad :)

Best job : worked on a cruise ship and a yacht for 4 years. We travelled around Asia, Europe, Carribean. It was full of fun-filled memories and i wouldn't trade that for any experience in the world. The best part is, you travel for free and get paid doing it. I met so many people from various culture in my whole life and make friends along the way.

Worst job: When i first came over to the States, i worked as a live-in babysitter for 3 months. The kids drove me nuts and i quit after 3 months beforel losing my mind :)

best job: Wendy's (ate all the time....still a problem:roll )

worst job: magazine sales...I am sooooo not a sales person. Unless it's cookware or candles or fun stuff but not for income just for fun ( I like all the freebies!)

Best Job: MA, hotel restaurant hostess, student tutor, wife/mother

Best Job: As a teenager my best friend and I worked at a local drive in movie theater as "ushers". All we had to do was: collect money from drive-ups when the cashier closed, walk around with flashlights and catch kids trying to sneak in through the woods, and provide battery jumps after the movie. Free popcorn and soda, and most of the time was spent watching movies.

Worst Job: Counter attendant at a Target snack bar while in high-school. Quit after a couple of weeks.

worst job - fried french fries at burger King for 8 hours in a very short uniform, then was told "the new kids clean the bathrooms".Returned the uniform and didn't go back.

best job - my present one on a trauma unit.

Worst job ever- selling Kirby vacuum cleaners door-to-door for comission. Quit after 2 days.

Best job- managed a record store. Free backstage passes and music all the time.

My last job before i started studying was in an abbatoir, intesting section, no kidding.

I was in charge of turning the cows intestines in side out so that they could be cleaned, i havnt eaten a sausage since

Never had a ood job before the nursing took over.

Best: Working in Yellowstone National Park taking reservation calls (from all over the world) for park lodging. I had 3 days off a week and I was never in my room! I would still be working there if they didn't pay minimum wage.

I also had a summer job (when I was in college) as a 5th & 6th grade girls' counselor at a parks and wildlife camp. All I had to do was watch them at night and make sure they got to their classes during the day. After I got them to their classes, I was free to go hang out at the boat dock or the swim float and work on my tan (this was over 20 years ago before we knew what damage we were doing to our skin).

Worst: answered customer service calls for a large HMO that notoriously took 8 or 9 months to process or adjust a claim. It wasn't pretty.

Hee hee! Did you have to throw dirt on the housewife's floor when she answered the door so you could demonstrate how good the vacuum was?
