What are your best techniques for staying alert and functional when you have to study a lot and don't get a lot of sleep?
I have been using 5 hour energy shots and caffeine, but I know that's not very healthy. Is there really even a choice, or do you just get used to being a zombie?
Understood. Just dont underestimate the benefits of a balanced nutritional approach.
About a year ago I used to go off of 4-5 hours of sleep, riding my bike 20 min 2x a day for 5 days and was eating healthier than I am now. The difference: I now eat fast food, get no exercise and sleep TONS. I think that even if you don't get as much sleep, the exercise helps you sleep better and the nutrition will aid in your exercising. My memory was MUCH MUCH better when I would exercise and eat better. I truely see and FEEL the difference. My lifestyle changed in the last year, and so did my memory.
Bought a treadmill, so I am hoping I can get my health back in order and aid in reducing my stress. I wanted to add that, from personal experience, I agree with Bicsters advice.
Drink lots and lots of water...that way if you fall asleep on your books, eventually you will be forced to get up and walk around... ...seriously though, keeping hydrated is really important for the brain.
Also, nourish those brain cells...can't surpass good, nutritious food...me personally, I'm a hemp, flax and sprout person...but it's not everyone's preference...find what works for you.
Coffee's good, but ya can't live on it alone!
i use the same KIND of pen Pilot G-2 0.5 black gel, cant use SAME pen, because i write a whooooooole lot when studying then within 3 weeks the pen is GOoooooooONE lol, feels so good to use a pen "all the way"
I dearly love those pens too!!! They write so smooth and have a nice bold line. Unfortunately, I'm a lefty so the ink gets smudged all over the paper and my hand.
