Hi!
I have been searching all over this site for some help but I cant find what I am looking for....Where do you buy your books for any nursing program??? I am about to start the BSN program at South University in FL 10-3-11 and I was hoping to buy USED books. I couldnt find many! the used books I found were only 5 dollars cheaper than new ones. I went back and forth from Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I don't get any grants and my Financial Aid only covers part of my tuition not all so I was hoping to save some money in books but i didn't have any luck...
I decided to buy most books from Barnes and Noble. I became a member for $25 a year. that will guarantee me to get my books in 1-3 business days. Did I make a good choice?
Where do you buy your Text Books??
Thank you so much in advance!
some thoughts regarding e-textbooks, from another discussion board:
i don't know it that part i bolded is true. but check into it if it's relevant to your situation.yeah well tech has it's place but there is one thing that is a drawback, you can't resell/sell back etextbooks and get money back and you do not get a write off/deduction/credit on yours or your parents taxes and if your reader or computer fries or burn out you lose your etextbook and have to pay what to replace it a book is rare to be damaged i have never met anyone that has lost or had a book stolen or destroyed, and you do not need power or a certain program to read a book, there is pros and cons to both medias but for me i would rather have a book, less effort and they are not affected by viruses unless someone sneezes on it and if the power goes out it still functions, no battery to worry about, and it never crashes and when you are hauling them around campus you are getting in shape too and they are great to level a piece of furniture
Not a BSN student, but I got my books at amazon. One of my books was listed on our college bookstore as $125 new and like in the high $90's for used. I got the book BRAND NEW through amazon for $86 (and that included shipping).
Just be careful with books that you need the CD and/or access code. A lot of the used books specifically state that the CD or code may or may not be included. I ordered a lab manuel i needed, the CD was imperitive, when I got the book, the CD wasn't in there. Had to send it back. I just ordered it new and forked out the extra $.
Hey there! If I can't find a great deal at Amazon or ebay, i.e used, etc. I found that if you go to the company that prints/distributes the book and look at other options for purchasing their books you can save some $$ with them too. For this semester, I decided to take a class out of pocket and Pearson was the distributer for the book I needed. The book, even used was 150.00 on Amazon. So, I checked up on Pearson's page via a link from Amazon and they had an unbound copy for 60.00 cheaper which included a key I needed for the online portion. I didnt really care if it was bound or unbound as I have plenty of binders from my past classes! Plus they offered free shipping and I jumped on the deal. Just another option for you. Take care! :)

I just use http://www.dealoz.com to compare the prices from all the websites you've guys mentioned. Just make sure you sort it to lowest price, it does most popular sorting automatically.
