Whatcom county is beautiful. Even more beautiful is Skagit County, and the city of Mount Vernon received the "Best Small Town to Live In" award.

I recently moved from Lynnwood, which is decent, but not the best. Not much 'culture' there. Edmonds gets my vote as my favorite. Olympia and Wenatchee are also very nice.

Thanks for the reply guys. I'm checking them online. I did find my spot and it even pulled up some places I've already lived in or know of but, for some reason I didn't get much in WA. Guess I'll try again. J.

All depends on who you are talking to and what you are looking for. I used to live in Tacoma and absolutely HATED it. I hated the city, the gangs, ect. Plus it didn't help that the polution and smog made my asthma develop into steroid dependent:angryfire

Now I live in Sequim.:balloons: Absolutly love it!!:balloons: :rotfl: It is a small town near Port Angeles. We can jump on a ferry and in 40 minutes be in Victoria Canada. If Iwant to go to Seattle (which I do like). I just have a 1 hour drive/ferry. For the cost of our 1 bedroom apartment in Tacoma we are renting a 3 bedroom house on 1/4 acre about 1/2 mile from a beach where I can take my dog and go crabbing. Granted LPN's make about $1.00/hr less. But my husband works for the state and transered over with the same pay scale. I wouldn't trade if for the world. And one of the best things about it, Sequim is in the the "rain shadow" of the Olympic Mountains. When you compare Seattle/Tacoma that average about 44 inches of rain a year:crying2: Sequim gets about 16 inches a year. And we still get the beutiful northwest scenery.

But to each their own.

I have lived all over Washington, but right now I live in Coeur d'Alene Idaho and commute to Spokane. It is like 20 minutes. It is beautiful here. THere are lakes and a lot of community involvement.

Cute Nurse, I'm hoping to relocate to CDA or Spokane within the next year. Can you give me any info on hospitals, L&D units, areas to live or rent? how affordable is Sequim? It would seem high, seeing as it's one of the top growing retirement spots in WA State now. I loved it, but have a feeling I could not afford it.

I also love Port Townsend. but again, can't afford it.....

If I had my druthers, I would live in a shack on the ocean front. Town not a big preference, but probably as far north of Ocean Shores as I could go w/o getting into the Reservation. It's just calming to me to be there. I wish I could live there, but no jobs!

While I love Seattle I am also VERY fond of funky Westport.
