Best nursing shoes? recommendations?

Published

I will graduate in June and have just started working 12-hour clinicals. I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to have my feet amputated--I've been working at a desk job for years and the time on my feet is killing me. Would love to hear what nursing shoes you think are the best. Thanks.

Klogs are great.

New Balances are great.

Birkenstocks are the best.

Second the ZCOILS!!!!!!!!!

Have done 16-20 hrs with just a 30hr break...They ROCK.

I've been wearing Dansko clogs for about 8 mos now and I'm going to change. I've noticed that when I step down on my left foot, it twists slightly which makes walking in those shoes difficult. Not to mention I fall off of them all the time.

I love Crocs.I have had mine for 2months, I work 3 12hr night shifts and would not wear anything else.

I agree. I have 5 pairs of Crocs in different colors. They are the best work shoes I've ever had, as well as the best gardening shoes and walking shoes. And when they get nasty, I just throw them in the washer with some Clorox Cleanup and an old towel, and they come out like new.

I'm considering these - how good are they?

Plus, anyone good a good solution for smelly feet? Besides wipe and powder? :imbar

A shoe repairman once recommended putting cedar shavings in a pair of new cotton socks and putting them in your shoes overnight to take out the moisture and odor. He said it helps alot.

Do your Dansko's squeak as you walk? Mine do and I'm not quite sure what I can do about it.

Mine squeak on linoleum, not on carpet. Add narc keys and the occasional tic tac box in my pocket, and you can hear me coming a mile away! Squeak, rattle, jingle, squeak.
