Bergen Community College Nursing Program Question

Published

Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!

Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.

Thanks!

Hi Asp40,

I'm a little late buying my books. Do you have any of the following?

Physical examination and health assestment. 6th edition. Jarvis, Carolyn.

Elsevier. ISBN 9781437701517

Davis' comprehensive handbook of laboratory and diagnostics tests with nursing

implications. Davis, 2009. Rth edition. Leeuwen, A. Kranpitz, T., and Smith L.

ISBN 13:978-0-8036-2304-0

Fundamentals of Nursing, 2nd edition. F.A. Davis. Judith M. Wilkinson and Leslie

S. treas.

ISBN: 13: 978-0-8036-2354-5

Davis' Drug Guide for Nurses. F. A. Davis company, 12th edition

I'm planning on getting them online if you don't have them.

Thank you!

I noticed the physical examination and health assessment has a video companion for $10 more at B&N online. Is anyone familiar with Elsevier's texts and their online study tools?

I am in section 1. Anyone else? Is everyone attending orientation? I'm a little nervous.

Do you mean the orientation on August 17th?

I was denied financial aid for the same reason:( I am having trouble with my loan processing because my SS isn't coming up clear. I have to fax all of these documents to prove my ID. I'm a little worried, but more annoyed.

What section are you all in? I am in section 1. I am so looking forward to meeting everyone on the 17th:)

soul healer - I will go and grab them and get back to you with what I have and the prices.

Soul Healer, I sent you a private message.

Hi Asp40,

I don't know how to answer a Private message... :-(

I am interested in the following:

Physical Assessment by jarvis, 5th edition. $40, CD included

And the "test success" for $15

The 2nd edition Davis' comprehensive handbook of laboratory and diagnostics tests with nursing

implications may be too old because they are looking for the 4th edition. I will pass on that one and try to get the 3rd edition.

I already bought the pharmacology book.

Can I meet you at BCC the week of August 15th. (or somewhere else if you prefer).

Please send me your email or phone No. so we can connect.

Thank you so very much!

Sounds good. We can meet at BCC that week. My email is [email protected]

Hello all,

Has anyone received their uniforms yet? I ordered mine in the begining of June and still have not received them.

Hello all,

Has anyone received their uniforms yet? I ordered mine in the begining of June and still have not received them.

Hello, I had also had my uniforms fitted in June. I had called them a couple days ago and they told me they'll be sending them out in two weeks and we will get them by the end of the month!

did you try going there? you had to come in for a fitting. i still didn't go, however when i called they said that i can pick it up the next day after fitting. give them a call

I just talked to them and they still didn't recieve the uniforms themselves. Once they get them, they alter them and sent them out to the students according to the order forms. come to think of it, the clinicals don't start till weeks into the semester, until then we don't need the uniforms. See you on Wednesday:yeah:
