Hi, I am a relatively new RN, graduated last year. I have been working for an agency doing assessments for health workers. I also tried working at a nursing home, but the stress was too high for me and I felt that I couldn't give the patients the care I wanted due to lack of time, so I quit. I am continuing my education to get the BSN... so my question is? What do I need to get a job in the school system? What type of experience? I don't think I would like working in a high stress job like a hospital... I love caring for patients, but the stress gets to me! When I finish my BSN I will have to get certified for school nursing... anything else I need? Do I need to have hospital experience to work at a school setting? Mom2009, For the entrance test I recommend the McGraw Hill series. As far as taking the classes in the order of the curriculum, I believe there is no option. For instance in 1st semester you have to take Nur181, 182 and 183 together. You can't take one and not the other. Hope this helps. Good luck!

One question about CPR classes. When I try to enroll to "Basic Life Saving for Health Care Providers" it asks me for my "license number". Any idea what is this about? Thanks!

I also had Pavlik. Her two tests are essay style, she even lets you write down up to 20 terms that may be difficult to remember in a "cheat sheet". She approves it, and lets you bring i t the test. If you do well in the two tests, you don't have to do the final. Good luck!

I have some bad news... today I went to the Admissions department. The secretary there told me that they won't send the letters for another 2 WEEKS!!! She said they're waiting for the semester to be over. She also said that they don't only consider the score on the Hesi, but also other factors (GPA I guess). Keep the faith and breathe in deeply! On the other hand, how could she know better than Elsa?

Hi Cherry Blossom. Yes, I've done all my pre-req's at BCC and hope to get in the program there too! I used to practice Yoga, now Idon't have much time anymore, but I try to meditate and center my spirit as often as I can. *Not always successfully*:-( Who are you taking Yoga with?
