Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!
Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.
Thanks!
Hello everyone,I am new to allnurses and have also been excepted to the nursing program for the fall. I am taking the 001 sections.
I emailed Angie at the nursing office and she said that all the updated info (the student handbook, etc.) will be posted in June. I can't wait to order my books and get a head start in my reading.
I still have to get CPR certified. BCC Continued Ed dept is offering a AHA BLS course online with a 3 hour practice and test onsite, after the online component. The last practice/test section for the summer is on June 8th (6 - 9 pm). I registered today, but the woman in the office said that if more people do not sign up they will cancel that session. So I was wondering if anyone else still has to get certified and if they want to take this section with me.
Congrats to everyone! I can wait to meet you in the fall, or sooner. J.
heyy, congrats on getting in and I hope their will be enough people for your online CPR course. when I registered last time they had to cancel the class because there was only 2 people who signed up. I didn't want to do online course so I looked and humc is having a class on June 6th. Hopefully your class won't get cancelled. Good luck!

This is on the American Heart Assoc website. Just put in your zip code and click on view scheduled classes. Most are in early June so you have to do this soon. I am going to the 6/9 class in River Edge. Hope this helps.
Are any of you that are currently enrolled gone throught the reapplication route ie apply for the day program, get accepted, decline and reapply for the evening? I'm was asked to decline my acceptance and reapply and i assumed it just a formality but now i'm wondering if that was stupid :hdvwl:
Any of you currently enrolled that reapplied and got in? or not get accepted? Comments/experiences/suggestions?
-Thanks.
if you were accepted, with a good hesi score, and are indeed an in-county resident and have a good gpa. i believe your chances of getting in again will be good. i had to decline fall and will re-apply for spring, but was assured i'd have good chances of getting in again based on all of the above. i'm actually going to retake the hesi as i messed up on math because of the calculator issue, so i will retake to up my hesi score the second time around.
Soul Healer,
I entered my driver license in the field and it accepted it.
Anyone taking the BLS course at Holy Name this Saturday? I got a confirmation after registering but never received an email confirmation. If you are, did you get the email? Do we have to bring any materials to the class, text etc.? I am going to call today to confirm.
