Bergen Community College Nursing Program Question

Published

Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!

Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.

Thanks!

Hello everyone, - i too got the acceptance email to the evening program only to be horrified by a 'recall' email this afternoon. If anyone finds out the scoop i hope you will post - I scored well on the exam so I am very confused - I called but could not get through. I hope this is a mistake - in any case congrats to all...

I received an email in the morning saying i got into the evening program. I checked my email half an hour ago and found a "recall" email. I too tried calling, but for some reason, i can't get through. I am getting paranoid. Can anyone tell me what this is about???

Call the nursing department. The director answered the phone. There was a glitch and the email was recalled. Hope this helps!!

THANK YOU - no one answered but your response makes me feel much better!

I received an email stating that i got into the evening program and then i checked my email, and i got another email saying 'recall bergen community college-nursing evening 2011 acceptance letter"

what does this mean???????????

Hey newstart unfortunately I'm not able to reply to PM's.. but yes I also received that email. However another email was sent recently stating that it was sent in error, so no worries, we're good!

Ok - check your emails again - I got a follow up stating that the 'recall' was sent in error and that I will be receiving acceptance letter in mail. Yeay!! I scored a 97 - I studied too hard to not get in!!! Thanks so much for help KAMI927! Congrats to all - see you in Spring! :dncgbby:

where are you all taking the cpr class?

I'm looking at Hackensack in December with the american heart association

I was looking at the times and dates from the american heart association as well.

HOW COME THE LENGTH OF THE CLASSES ARE DIFFERENT? SOME CLASSES ARE 3 HOURS, OTHERS ARE 4, AND SOME ARE LIKE 5-6 HOURS?? I SEARCHED UNDER BLS Healthcare Providers AND THE LENTH OF THE TIMES ARE DIFFERENT. AM I SEARCHING FOR THE RIGHT COURSE??

Hi newstart,

The course itself I believe is 8 hours. Some are the full 8 hours and some are broken up into segments over a few days. Does anyone know if all students accepted received emails today or if there are still emails waiting to go out?

Hey everyone,

I did my CPR thru LifeSavers (link: BLS for Healthcare Providers American Heart Association CPR). It was $85 and the class was only 4.5 hours (which ended up being more like 3.75). It's in Fairfield!!

Hope this helps!
