Bellevue College hopefuls 2014-2015

Published

Hey everyone, I didn't see a thread for this yet so I thought I would start one.

Is anyone else applying to BC for Fall 2014/Winter 2015 cohorts? I'm getting nervous with the deadline less than two months away. I did all my pre reqs there and it's my first choice school which probably adds to the nerves a bit. Are any of you finished with the application process yet? I think it's nice that this year, the background check is after the initial application just for the sake of saving money if I didn't score high enough on my TEAS to get in.

Specializes in None yet..

We can relax today - it's Sunday, with no chance of mail! Then (she says, tricking herself), we'll all get happy news on Monday.

Dream on, friends!

Another day with nothing. I broke down and paid Seattle U my deposit. This waiting is dreadful!!

Justdance14: So are you still going to go to Bellevue if you get accepted?

I'm not sure. I have a lot of personal things going on right now, making my decision very difficult! I sent the deposit into Seattle U because it is imperative that I start school in the fall and I don't want to be left hanging with nowhere to go!

I hope you get into Bellevue, Justdance. Then you can consider the $200 a small payment for peace of mind right now and celebrate saving all that money by not going to SU! And bottom line, if you're determined to go to nursing school this fall come hell or high water, you're at your goal for which money is no object. WooHoo! As the sweepstakes promos say, "You are already a winner." Sorry about the personal things; none of us needs our first quarter of nursing school made any harder. I'm betting your determination will see you through just about anything, though.

Thank you, SeattleJess. You make some good points. :) Hoping we all get great news in the morning!

Justdance14: I agree with SeattleJess. $200 is a lot but not much when considering nursing school. I would say go with your gut. I'm sure you will get in to Bellevue. If I were in your shoes I would have done the same thing and then made the decision. I would be ecstatic to get into any program. So you should be very proud of yourself. You have worked long and hard to get this far and I'm sure you got through personal things along the way. So don't let them get you down. This too shall pass. That's at least what I keep telling myself.

Kkay, thank you. We have ALL worked so hard! Nursing school may be hard but doing all the prerequisites was hard work and really taking a leap of faith considering what it takes to get into RN schools these days. We have been so dedicated just to get to this point...aaannnd still nothing from BC in my mailbox today.

Nothing over here either

This is getting so frustrating :( I wish they would give us a more specific date like other schools do. It's strange to me that they are so unspecific and get irritated if anyone asks when we will receive our letters! I'm guessing that if they mailed the letters out on monday then we will (hopefully) be receiving them tomorrow or thursday.

Ok, went by the office there today before work. They were very nice. While they wouldn't put a full confirmation down that the letters went out yesterday, it was mentioned as a probability. I was told we should have the letters within a week.

Thank you for letting us know! (But I'm just curious why they couldn't say for sure what day it was/will be sent out...)
