Beginning RN Salary in Abilene or Dallas/Ft Worth

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I just passed the NCLEX! :lol2:

Now, I'm looking for a job in either the Abilene or Dallas/Ft Worth area. Can anyone give me an idea of what I can expect to earn as a starting hourly salary?

I've heard figures from $20/Hr up to $30, but I don't know anyone currently working here well enough to ask them.

Thanks in advance!

Dallas trafic is nothing compared to some of the places I've travelled to.

Texas folk really need to fall on their knees and thank the heavens above that they have such cheap land.

... If we could just get rid of Group One and get folks to lighten up a bit, the state would be just this side of heaven

Do you know of any LVN programs in Ft.Worth?

Specializes in Postpartum/Nursery.

I think Concorde in Arlington is the only one left...

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.

There a couple NEAR FT Worth but not in Ft Worth - Try Weatherford Jr College and Hill College in Cleburne if Concorde is too expensive for you.

Don't know about new grad pay but, according to the BLS, average RN pay in Abilene is about $24 an hour, $26-$27 an hour in Dallas.

The average RN makes $50K a year in Abilene, $56K in Dallas.

There are other towns listed if you want to check that out as well.

I wouldnt say that would be an accurate pay range for new grads - but would be pretty reflective of experienced RN's. New grads are running closer to 20 per hour.
