I don't know where else to post this.
I really enjoy this site and look at it often. I don't know if this is within the "advertising" rules but I am in no way personally connected with it. I just thought all nurses might enjoy the lovely images of abandoned hospitals as I do

The images are haunting. It was worth pointing the site out. Enjoy.

Very erie and so powerful. I saw how the photos were hung on the wall with cloth tape, truly nursing move :-)
Loved it!

Some of those photos seemed to come straight from a nightmare or horror movie.
There are several abandoned hospitals in my area, and these make me wonder what they look like inside now.

I love these kind of photographic essays. One of my favorites is Michael John Grist who photographs abanadoned places in Japan, he captures these ruins in such a beautiful way. There are some abandoned hospitals on his site.

Thanks for posting this link. I have a great interest in old buildings, hospitals, military bases and the like so found these photo's incredible. They used to build hospitals to be grand and inspiring structures. Its too bad that now they are just big unimaginative concrete boxes.

Thanks for posting...there was a documentary on PBS recently, about the abandoned medical facilities on Ellis Island-really interesting. There is a closed psych hsp in central NJ, where I did my psych rotation years ago. Campus consisted of many "cottages", which were connected by underground tunnels-we were told that pts frequently comitted suicide by hanging underground....

This is sad yet beautiful. Thanks for posting. I love photography and history. Here is a site that gives a little history of one of the places http://www.stillmirrors.com/LetchworthVillage/index.html
I used to drive through one to get to the parkway after classes, got out and took many photographs on occasion and another up on the Long Island sound where I take my kids to the park sometimes. Eerie, interesting places.
Thanks for kind responses. Opacity always has interesting things to look at I'm glad you liked it.
