BCIT Nursing January 2016 Applicants

Published

Hi Everyone!

I just decided to make this thread because I'm looking for some advice/insight on what more to do to get into the BCIT Nursing Program. I'm finishing up my last pre-req (BPK 325 at SFU) this semester and want to apply for the January 2016 intake. I have recently started volunteering at Nursing home and will have 50 hours by June and I currently have 50+ hours volunteering with the city of Surrey.

Any advice would be great! Thanks :)

@mintbows8 Thanks for the info!

I can't find the facebook group for some reason! Could you link the page to me? (My BCIT email is attached to my account)

Congrats to everyone who got accepted! Unfortunately, I'm currently waitlisted for the program :/

Hi! I have made a facebook group for our intake! It's under the BCIT Groups as "Nursing January 2016 Intake" Hope to see you there and for our class to find it! Congratulations and I'm excited to meet everyone!

Just an aside: you must have an @my.bcit.ca or @bcit.ca email address to join the BCIT groups page and I had to do it on my laptop (my phone wouldn't let me).

Where can I find this BCIT Groups page?

Where can I find this BCIT Groups page?

Here's the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1050060945045278/

You need to enter your BCIT email address and go confirm the link in your email. Then you'll be taken to the general BCIT groups page where you can either click the above link again or just search 'Nursing January 2016 intake' and join the nursing group :)

Hi guys,

Congrats to everyone that got into the Jan 2016 intake, and good luck to everyone on the waitlist!

I can't wait to meet my fellow nursing classmates in Jan to start this new journey!!! :D.

Do you guys think we'll need a laptop for the nursing program? My current one is heavy, so I don't like to bring it to school and my ipad can't really replace the things a laptop can do. What do you guys think?

I was kind of wondering whether we can even USE laptops in class. maybe it depends on the prof but I'm just so use to taking notes with my laptop after so many years

I'm also in a similar situation - my laptop is heavy and getting slow. Not sure if I should purchase something else or just take notes by hand. I guess I'll wait until the first couple weeks of classes to make a decision.

Hey everyone. Congrats to those who were accepted! I was waitlisted, but will continue to improve my application to make it in next intake. Has anyone taken the LIBS 7001 or 7002 from BCIT yet? If you have, would you recommend taking them online or in class? I'm planning to take them both next semester. Thanks!

Hey everyone,

Congratulations to those who have made it in! I'm currently a level one student and it's been quite the learning experience.

If anyone of you are looking for textbooks for Jarvis 2nd Edition and APA manual, I have it for sale. PM if interested :]
