  1. You would likely have an easier time being hired at 31 as oppose to someone who may be a new graduate and 21. You have life experience that will help you in the work place. As for work opportunities, there seems to be lots of work but you may have to leave Alberta (or at least the main cities). In Vancouver, there is a large shortage of nurses. I can't speak for the rest of Canada. PS: Nursing school is challedning, but so rewarding! I recommend volunteering in a hospital or long term care facility to make sure it is for you.
  2. The Vancouver housing market is very frustrating! Halifax is a beautiful city. I'm from the east coast and have been there many times. The people are friendly and there are plenty of things to do outdoors. Its also a bit slower way of life compared to Vancouver. I am not familiar with the job market for RN's there. The only bad thing is the winters. It snows a lot! But the rest of the year makes up for the snow :)
  3. Hey everyone. Congrats to those who were accepted! I was waitlisted, but will continue to improve my application to make it in next intake. Has anyone taken the LIBS 7001 or 7002 from BCIT yet? If you have, would you recommend taking them online or in class? I'm planning to take them both next semester. Thanks!
  4. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! My status hasn't changed from "Pending Department Review." Does anyone know if it is usual for them to send the acceptances or declines out over a couple days? Fingers crossed for those who have not heard!
  5. Good luck everyone! Fingers crossed.
