BCIT Nursing January 2016 Applicants

Published

Hi Everyone!

I just decided to make this thread because I'm looking for some advice/insight on what more to do to get into the BCIT Nursing Program. I'm finishing up my last pre-req (BPK 325 at SFU) this semester and want to apply for the January 2016 intake. I have recently started volunteering at Nursing home and will have 50 hours by June and I currently have 50+ hours volunteering with the city of Surrey.

Any advice would be great! Thanks :)

Hey yall, I emailed BCIT nursing department for some info and it sounds like 180 applicants were short-listed and 96 will receive acceptance. I don't know if anyone else had received this info but I thought I'd post it anyways. Good luck to everyone!

I see the questionnaire has opened early. Has anyone written it yet?

I haven't written it yet but I might sometime today or tomorrow.

Hi everyone!!!!

After following comments on the 2014-2015 intake threads I decided to make an account, not to mention everyone is so pumped to encourage and welcome all January 2016 applicants :)

I have been short-listed and am planning to complete the questionnaire in the next couple of days. I'm a little nervous but excited.

Reading past comments we should expect interview-based questions and the references in the email will provide more than enough information to prepare.

Good Luck everyone!!!!

*fingers crossed*

Hi LicoriceBlackRice!

Congrats on being shortlisted!! It's exciting to think that we're only a couple weeks away from knowing BCIT'S final decision... but also super nerve-wracking !

Good luck to everyone writing the questionnaire!

I'm so nervous too! Good luck everyone!

Hi Im new to this blog and I was applying for Jan 2016 but i termed my application in late due to finishing the Hesi on Oct 5. What is short-listed? If you don't mind me asking, seems like a good thing so congratulations to all.

I was also unfamiliar with the term until recently. It essentially means that applicants are being further considered for acceptance and, in other words, they're progressing through the application process. Hope that helps.

Edit: Also, only about half of applicants that are short-listed actually receive acceptance (96 out of 180).

oh ok thanks. Have you submitted your application yet?

I submitted my application for the January 2016 intake sometime around late June/early July (the deadline was late October).

The deadline was August 31st for January 2016 intake.

hahaha yes that's what I meant to say, late August.
