Hi guys where can we pay the commitment fee

You have to pay it to your BCIT account. I do this by setting up BCIT as a payee on my online banking. Your account number is the student number given to you. Then you pay BCIT the $500 and it should go onto your account summary the next business day!

Hey guys. Is anyone from the second round still waiting to hear back? I applied on the deadline date and my application status says "Pending Department Review"... ?

Hi @Deesnuts,

I'm in the same boat as you RN.. mine is still says "pending department review". I called and emailed them but they told me to just wait hehe. I'm assuming they're still going through the 1st round.. I also submitted my application pretty late like end of Dec. I'm trying not to think about it too much but I'm very anxious and I need to know the answer already! Hopefully by the end of this week or end of this month will know the answer b/c April is around the corner.

May I know what your GPA/experiences?

Btw, congratulations to everyone who got in the first intake!

Heyy.
I completed the 18 credits from VCC.
My GPA is is 3.83. Chem 11 is 80%. Math 11 I don't have but I substituted with another course but I'm not sure if they would accept. I just wanted to try anyway.

My Casper results are not out yet so I'm not sure about that. Tbh I'm not too hopefully cause of the Math requirement.

As for experience, I only have 5 years of combined customer service role. And for volunteering, I used to be a college mentor.

oh I also hold a Diploma in Arts and Science but the grades are terrible ( all C's and D's)

I have also applied at VCC which I'm more hopeful but we will see how it goes. @applepie11 How about yours? Also keep me posted if your status changes.

Your GPA is much better than mine! I'm way below a 3.0 for my overall b/c I failed to courses from TRU (not prereqs). But my prereqs are all in the B level. I am also still waiting for my casper results cause I took in Jan 19 so hopefully end of this week we will see our results online. Don't lose hope we might have a chance, you never know!

I have a diploma from VCC and a few credits from TRU + BCIT. I have been working as Rehab Assistant in the hospital for 5 years.

I think both colleges are good for nursing! I also applied to the college of the rockies in Cranbrook for September intake. I am hoping I get into BCIT b/c its closer to home. But well see what happens.

Hi,

BCIT has updated my status from conditional to fully accepted. You guys can check your status too.

Hey guys,

My application status changed from Pending Dept. Review - Acceptance Offered but it's written Cond Accept - Supplemental Req. What does it mean guys? I didn't receive any letter or anything. How does it look like for ya'll.

Mine has not change. Maybe I didn't get in. Congratulations though! I think it means you need to submit other requirements? Call admissions tomorrow to ask.

Does anyone know if they require 30-60 post graduate credits? the website doesnt say it anymore so do they just require the pre reqs now and the GPA + casper?

BCIT requirements are based on what you mentioned above and you need a total of 18 university credits:

- ENGL 1177 - Academic Writing or equivalent* (3.0 credits)

- BHSC 1200 - Human Anatomy and Physiology or equivalent*, completed within the past three years (6.0 credits)

- PSYC 1101 - Introductory Psychology 1 or equivalent* (3.0 credits)

- General Education [PDF] electives at a 100 level minimum in at least two different academic disciplines (6.0 credits)

A heads up, if your academic writing class doesn't show that it is equivalent, you can always email to ask if they will count it so long as it has a large academic writing focus (I know students in my cohort and other cohorts did that).

Also, if you have more credits or a previous degree; if you have completed the two LIBS requirements (these are to be completed during the program, but can be completed in advance - shows commitment to the program), you will essentially score higher on your application.
