Hi everyone- I thought I would make this post for students applying in January 2022. Please post any information that may be comfortable. Also feel free to share the number of credits you have, grades and GPA, etc. We’re all in this together!
Hello, guys!
I have some questions on application process. I know it's very late to ask questions LOL
Do we have to hand in anything other than secondary&post secondary transcripts and mandatory questionairre? For example, do we have to submit proof of work - such as pay cheques and more?
Also, when answering the questions on the application processing page, did you guys put percentage grade for all of them? Cuz I do not have percentage grades, I only have letter grades. I just put letter grades in, but I am kinda worried that it may be rejected..?
Lastly, on the mandatory questionairre, I put percentage for BCIT's GPA - is this acceptable? I am not sure what GPA I received from BCIT. I only took one course, and I received a 76%.
Wish the best for all!

Any transcripts that provide proof that you have met the requirements is good enough. No, you do not need to add pay cheque information. You would just include work experience, etc in the mandatory questionnaire.
Also, when answering the questions on the application processing page, did you guys put percentage grade for all of them? Cuz I do not have percentage grades, I only have letter grades. I just put letter grades in, but I am kinda worried that it may be rejected..? I think a percentage or letter grade is fine as your transcript will probably help explain or provide proof.
Lastly, on the mandatory questionairre, I put percentage for BCIT's GPA - is this acceptable? I am not sure what GPA I received from BCIT. I only took one course, and I received a 76%. I put in a percent for my overall GPA from BCIT because they did not provide a non-percent and they accepted it. So it should be fine.
Wish the best for all! You too!

Thank you SOOO much for answering so fast! I emailed the advisor from May but haven't heard exact answers for those questions. You truly saved me from anxiety thank youuu
I wish the best for all and hope we all magically get in!:)
(+ I think it usually takes about one and a half to two months...? for them to make a decision.)

I was wondering if anyone knew if I have to resubmit my CASPer results or do they re use it from my last application? I applied to the fall 2021 intake and didn't get in. Thanks!
If you have already taken the CASper test and have already sent the results to BCIT then it should be good. I applied for the last intake too.
I was told this by the nursing department. Hopefully this helps! ? I think for the April intake, you would have to retake/send the CASper test.

I believe that there is a word and time limit. There is also a few questions to answer. I also heard that they provide information for the questions but I am not sure. And yes, they usually do choose applicants that way. However, for the Sept intake I read on this forum that they did not use it. I wonder if they will be using it the Jan 2022 intake... Hmm.
Here's some advice for the non-cognitive that I found from another forum:
Quote
Use the STAR format, I found that keeping that in mind really helped. If you're not familiar, here's quick over view:
S - Situation - Briefly describe the situation you were in. Identify major players, basically the Who, What, Where, and When of it.
T - Task - State the task you were given. This is where you'll relate it to the question you were initially asked, whether it was solving a problem, achieving an objective, anything like that.
A - Action - Describe what you did. Pretty straight forward, remember to use "I did" type language, but don't leave out things that you delegated or that were part of a team effort either.
R - Result - What was the outcome of the situation? Include what you learned, and whether you accomplished the initial objective or not.
Sticking to this format tends to keep you focused and concise when you're talking in person or have a word limit which I believe this quiz has. During in person interviews, I will often take a minute to collect my thoughts, make a couple notes and then speak, which has always been allowed. I'm not a person who normally takes any notes, but writing down a quick point for each S-T-A-R really keeps me on task.
as anyone heard back or received any communications?
