BCIT Nursing Application January 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone- I thought I would make this post for students applying in January 2022. Please post any information that may be comfortable. Also feel free to share the number of credits you have, grades and GPA, etc. We’re all in this together!

Hey guys, I’ll be applying with cGpa of 3.4...

my work experience is not that great either , I’ve worked at McDonald’s and as a Fido consultant for about 2-4 years LOL

volunteer experience has nothing health care related or relevant, just volunteered as a reading buddy to primary school kids

For the Casper, I honestly think I either aced it or bombed it, no in between ?

Been trying to finish my pre reqs the last couple years or so, actually since o got out of highschool ? hopefully it pays off ....getting into nursing school seems more like a pipe dream nowadays, anyway thanks for reading

sending good vibes, hopefully we all magically get in

hello friends! I just have a question with regards to cGPA and credits. I have a degree in psych, so 120 credits, however my total GPA for my entire degree is not very good due to my first year marks weighing it down. Do they look at the entire GPA or the just the GPA for the pre reqs? I have pretty decent work experience (support worker in psych ward, medical attendant for patient transfer and 6 years in community work) and good marks in the pre reqs, but do I stand a chance with a poor cGPA? Thanks in advance

Hi everyone,

So I'm applying from Alberta. I have a degree in Biology (120 credits) with a cGPA of 3.1

I just started working as a psychiatric aide, and for the past 2 years, I've been working as a respite worker for children who have ASD and I also work as a makeup artist.

I plan on taking my CASPer in August, so I am currently just prepping!

Good luck to everyone, I hope we all make it in!

Prereq marks:

Precalc 11 - 90

Chem 12 - 86

English - B-

Psych - B+

A&P - A,B+

Electives - A,A+

Hey guys!

I was wondering if anyone thinks my cGPA might be too low? Also, do they look at the specific courses to calculate your GPA or is it overall?

I have a GPA of 3.77 & 60 credits

A&P 1: B+

A&P 2: A+

PSYC 2nd year: A-

English: A-

I'm not sure if they actually look at high school grades?

I have worked as a gymnastics coach for 7 years and as a child and youth support worker for 8 months. I have 100 volunteer hours at BCCH too. But I'm scared that my GPA might not be high enough because lord knows how the Casper goes.

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to register for Casper for August 3rd but it doesn't let me to! Does that mean it is full? I have already done a Casper test on April 2nd, do I need to re-do it?

You can only do 1 per CASPer test cycle because you did yours in April; you can't take it again in August.

Hey guys,

I took my Casper test in October 2020. Does this mean I don’t need to re take it either?

I checked their website and I think they've updated it and it doesn't indicate anymore that CASPer to be done before the application deadline, so I think we will be fine!

Hello,

I called admission and asked about it they reported it is okay to do it on 3rd.

How can I know my total GPA? When shall we expect hearing from them ?

I took my Casper on February 11th to use it for the sept 2021 intake. But I didn’t get in, so I applied again for the jan 2022. Do I have to retake the Casper? Or will they use my feb 11 score for Jan 2022 as well?
