BCIT Jan 2013 Applicants

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Just wanted to get something started as I will be applying for this intake. Let's get this thread going. Fill me in on who you are and why you are applying bcit's nursing program.

I was told that BCIT is the most recognized institution of all nursing schools in BC. There clinical hours which I like and it's a 3 year program. It is also the most competitive, therefore the brightest, smartest, and well rounded individuals will be there. I want to be associated with a competitive environment, makes me work harder and we can learn from each other.

I am currently at kwantlen completing my pre reqs. I have completed my 1st year english and 1st year psych. I will be taking libs 7001 and 7002, 200 level psych course and 2 other bio courses.

It just hit me how excited I am to meet all of you in real life!

Hi everyone,

Just a heads up, I was notified via email around 5:54 pm yesterday (Nov 5) to check myCommunication. It says I am provisionally accepted. My last name starts with W.

hmmm..maybe they didn't go alphabetical then? :S And congratz dog prints:)

I was accepted last night!!! So excited... I can't believe this is happening. I can't wait to meet everyone who will be part of the January class!!!!!!!!For those of you who haven't been notified yet I will be sending you good thoughts all day! Good luck!

Ps does anyone know if there is a Facebook page for the jan 2013 class?

I e-mailed the admissions officer with a deferral request. If it's not granted I will still start the program in January. If it is granted there will be one more person accepted into this intake.

Interesting that you got emailed, some people did not.

Congratulations though!

I'm thinking that those that haven't heard yet will hear at the end of the day, probably 6-ish. Kind of curious though, don't suppose anyone knows of a short-listed candidate that has received a non-offer yet? Because as of right now I see this one of two ways:1) All the candidates without any arguments have been contacted and given offers. Those they are "iffy" about are being decided right now to be contacted later.2) The option I don't really want to believe; that all the non-offers are being sent out later. For some reason I don't think it would be 2, just because one would assume the admissions people would send these out first.

Maybe it has something to do with the job action... Because I tried to pay my tuition by phone and I couldn't because of the strike so I did it online instead. So don't give up yet!

I am on edge right now!!! I think I've hit refresh a billions times on mybcit...

:banghead:

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but it is the job action. No more info -accept or non accept will be sent out until later this week. They were picketing today.

Dammit! That sucks.

This the same strike as at UBC? Or a coincidence?
