  1. I'm just about the start my last term of nursing school, and looking back on the experience, I would say the best advice is to make all the stuff you need to do to remain a fully functional person non-optional. It can become the norm to eat takeout 5 nights a week, not exercise, and not take time to do whatever it is that makes you feel less crazy. You just have to tell yourself that it isn't an option. It's like the whole concept of putting money into your saving account each month right away... factor in time for cooking, working out, reading, or whatever at the beginning of each week, like you would for homework or work. Good luck! The advice above to ride the waves is also super good!
  2. Hi kabachi! I was just accepted, and I had some pretty terrible marks in my first year of university, including a couple of fails (stupid calculus). I think that these kinds of things, when put into the context of your marks increasing as you progress through school, are totally okay. My gpa isn't all that much higher than yours, and your experiences outside of school sound awesome! Hope that helps.
  3. It was my first time applying.
  4. dog_prints: I am in the exact same situation! I just talked to the financial aid office, and they told me the same thing smily65 said (she is always right!). As long as you can provide your student loan application number on the fee deferral application, it should be approved. She also told me to get in contact with my admissions officer and explain that because I will be sending in my fee deferral application tonight/tomorrow, it won't be approved in time for the tuition deadline. She assured me that as long as we kept in contact with our admissions officer and paid the committment fee, our seat would not be given away! Hope this helps- it certainly calmed me down! Fingers crossed for everybody!!!
  5. It just hit me how excited I am to meet all of you in real life!
  6. My last name starts with an L! So YES, before O!!!
  7. I bet they are- my status did not change until about 45 minutes after the others who have been notified, which wouldn't make any sense if they were doing it in big batches. Fingers crossed for everyone!!!!
  8. There is no email sent, but now I owe them tuition, and the "course schedule" tab is full of courses. Wowowowow!
  9. Provisional acceptance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Wow! Okay, to simplify all of the information that has been posted: the way that I understood it, we are supposed to submit two reference forms, NOT letters- if our referee wants, they can write extra information on the back of the form. They can be either work or volunteer... although I have more than one employer that I could ask for a reference from, I am going to go with one from my current employer, and one from volunteering, because I feel that the volunteer work I do is very relevent to the program. Is that about right?

  12. For those asking, I was shortlisted, and I have a total of 104 credits (3/4 of a degree in nutritional science, plus a couple electives from Douglas). For the pre-requisite courses, I have completed all but both of the LIBS and Psych 102- this is definately the part of my application that is worrying me most right now! I also have over 50 hours of volunteer experience at St. Paul's hospital. And for those who have been shortlisted- I sent BCIT an email last night, just to clarify whether the position description that is supposed to be attached to any healthcare-related volunteer work should be written by us, or our referee... the response: "If the agency has a job description (and most do) you can attach it, and if they do not you are welcome to write it yourself."
  13. Thank you! And congratulations to everyone :)
  14. BulmaBriefs, if you find out about the letter of intent, can you let us know? I'm so excited it's almost unbearable.
  15. SHORTLISTED!!!! AHHHHHH!!!!
