Hello future nurses,
I am so excited to be starting nursing at BCIT in August!
For future applicants: To have a strong application make sure you have work experience, volunteer experience (preferably healthcare), as well as liberal arts courses - my Psych 241 at SFU transferred over as a libs course and I will find out if any other courses of mine transfer over once I send them an updated transcript.
I am going to be going in with a completed BSc in Kinesiology and Psychology, but a full degree is not necessary, just at least 60 credits to be competitive!
Anyone else defer to August?
Hey guys,
I just came to check and see how you're all holding up. So I made a vow to myself that I wouldn't let the waiting get to me....but to be honest I'm going crazy here lol. Just the fact that February is almost complete and we'll be starting March very soon...is making me very nervous! I hope everyone else is doing ok and that we'll be hearing some very good news soon:) I'm guessing we have around approximately 42 days to hear back from the nursing department!
Been lurking this thread for a while before I decided to finally make an account. :PApplying as a SFU psych undergrad here with volunteer in medical health settings and non-medical related work experience. My grades aren't the best so hopefully my volunteer and work experience will help. But after reading about all your guys' applications, I certainly feel that mine isn't really strong enough. But it's my first time applying, so I will take this as an experience so I know how to better my application for the next round!Seeing March drawing closer and closer certainly has me on the edge of my seat constantly! Mine says 'pending department review' and it has been that way since they received all my documents. It's going to be awhile before anything else changes.
