being alittle harsh, don't ya think. You are 23 years old, is there any cardiac hx in your family to suggest you are having a heart attack. Your K+ was 2.4, were you throwing up/ diarrhea, what? The Doc ran the labs, right. Go eat some bananas. What would you have liked the DOc to do, and if you knew why didn't you ask?

I think that you got my post might have sounded funny so maybe I will repost it so it makes more sense.
Tuesday= car accident + concussion + vomiting
Tuesday Night= called 911 everything OK
Wednesday= Dr. Calls and freaks out b/c I have some abnormal results on my ECG
Thursday-Saturday feeling really crappy with really really bad chest pains E.R with bloodtest of K+ @2.4 sent home with no treatment at all still vomiting.
P.S. tried to eat a banana before calling 911 but It saw daylight twice
Just saying that the one and only hospital that serves nearly 200,000 people in a 700km radius should know better.
Two days ago I had to call 911 b/c of chest pains (23yr) they do all the standard xrays and ecgs and it all turns out ok. Yesterday I ended up at the er again and this time they did blood tests my K+ was ony 2.4 they gave me N.S. and sent me home not feeling any betterSo I called MY PCP and she freaked out on me for not standing up for myself. All the E.R. doc said was she looked fine. Moral of Story Ya just can't trust most Canadian Hospitals to do the right thing.
Hmmmm, I think I would be pretty upset too! Your not a professional, yet. How would you know what normal lab values are? I would be very concerned about a hospital that sent ANY patient home with a K+ of 2.4.

exactly my DOC is the one who told me I had an abnormal blood test not the er doc and still they sent me home basically untreated:angryfire . I am scared because I still don't feel we but we only have one hosp and if I wait to see my doc in the am I am sure to be admitted because thats the way she is:stone
I don't think rudeness is the issue here. I do think legalities are---naming facility names and discussing cases of alleged negligence on an open and very large board like this can be very imprudent, from a legal standpoint---not to mention, it won't resolve any issue for you directly.
If you have an issue with a specific facility or medical tx, dr/nurse, you need to exercise your right to seek redress on the appropriate level, communicating with the CEO or director of the facility as to specific complaint and dates/times/events.
I hope you understand. Best wishes to you.
