Baylor Scott & White Residency February 2022

Hey, I wanted to start this thread for all of us applying for any Baylor Scott & White locations to keep each other updated with responses and interviews. I applied for BUMC specifically.

I was called immediately after I said yes to complete the phone screen with the recruiter over the phone. Then last week a different recruiter sent me a phone screen form to fill out in addition to listing my availability for interviews, but she said she was unable to schedule that because the spots filled up. As a result, I was put into the "overflow lottery" (like many others have previously stated) until more interview times come available. So, like you I have reached out to another recruiter just to get some clarification and make sure that I don't get lost in the chaos.. 

 

I am really hoping that you get the answers you need and are able to interview soon. This process of applying to residencies and interviewing and then waiting to hear back all while in the last semester of nursing school is a rollercoaster of emotions to say the least. Goodluck!! 

Ughh, why would they send out preferences to fill out but not have enough interview spots??! This is stressful

Hi everyone! 

I applied to almost every location for Baylor, grapevine, irving, baylor medical center, fort worth, plano, frisco and received a general preference form to ask my top 2 units & top 2 locations last Wednesday. I filled it out and only heard from Macias, from grapevine yesterday, and I was in clinical during the time, once I responded to her after class she said unfortunately women’s services is filled up. I’m confused as to when I’m going to hear back from other locations and if this means I don’t get any opportunity to interview for grapevine because interview slots filled up in 3 hours.. please help!!

I’ve heard back from Irving and BUMC already. They are conducting interviews this week and next week. I’m waiting to hear back from Macias for Grapevine. However I didn’t request for women’s services. That could be a competitive speciality to get into.

I applied to Irving too and that was one of my preferences, but still didn’t hear back. Do you have an email for the recruiter for Irving? I would love to reach out and ask if I missed an email. Thank you for your prompt response!

Has anyone heard from McKinney or Plano woman’s services? I filled out the preference form last week but haven’t heard from a recruiter.

Sorry! I’m not sure who the recruiter is. I’m an internal applicant and I work at the Irving location. I was referred directly by my manager.

Something similar happened to me with BUMC. I was told there were no more spots for women’s services and I would be placed on the “overflow lottery.” To me that sounds like if they don’t pick any of the applicants who managed to get an interview for the position, they would randomly pick people from the overflow lottery to interview. So I’m waiting it out.

If this is true, then what is the graduate expo for..  ?

I think they have spots set aside specifically for those that attend the expo

@KK2069 no I put fort worth as my top so have only heard from that recruiter. was wanting to make contact with waxahachie since I’m worried/confused about the interview schedule situation at fort worth. just want to interview with someone! don’t feel like a “lottery” is a good system to choose who gets an interview or not…
