Nurses New Nurse

Updated:   Published

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to start this thread for those who are applying to the winter 2019 nurse residency cohort for Baylor Scott & White Health. This is so we can ask questions and help other possible future team members through the application and hiring process.

Good luck! :specs:

Hi I did a virtual job fair because I am at Texas Tech, but we had about 50 or so students sign up to see their presentation. I am from Waxahachie and have lived in DFW my whole life; they have a great reputation. I believe they said they hired over 1100 graduate nurses throughout Texas last year so that's exciting! I have no clue how many they are taking for each specialty, but they did say that they would do their very best to help find a place for you. The recruiters are very nice!

Darn. I did not know they had a virtual job fair. I am from out of state, and I think that is why I am so anxious to hear back.

If you go on their facebook BSWH Graduate Nurses there is a link to an info session they are having on wednesday the 12th! The last one I listened to they had a time for questions too so maybe you could ask them anything youre wondering then!

My school had a virtual job fair with a lot of the major hospitals in Texas, and they happened to be part of it. I believe there is a webinar though on Sept 12 so you could possibly tune into that! Go onto facebook if you have one and search BSWH Graduate Nurses and look at their events!

Did anyone apply to medical city/HCA today? I have a question for yall if you did!

I am up in the air with them. The stipend thing kind of worries me because it doesn't seem sustainable unless you have some help!

Yeah its 1000/2 weeks for 3 months is my understanding. They also use meditech to chart which is kind of outdated..so I am with ya there, but I have had really good experiences in their hospitals for clinical especially Medical City Plano in their ER and Neuro ICU(loved it) but they didn't say "only apply for 3 locations" so a few people I know applied to basically every location... I am just worried about that..so was wondering if you had any thoughts?

Has anyone heard anything? I am so antsy lol

Specializes in Cardiothoracic and Transplant ICU.

I haven't.... unfortunately. I know some recruiters went to Arkansas for work.

I listened to their online thing yesterday. They said if you did the video interview it can take up to three weeks to get a response. I am not sure if they have started reviewing them yet. Hope that helps lol

My friend scheduled an interview with the medical ICU yesterday so I am just nervous since I have already done the video interview and not heard anything at all.

Specializes in Cardiothoracic and Transplant ICU.

I was called a day after the video interview and the recruiter said that he was sending my info to the CVICU manager at BUMC. I haven't heard back sense and It's been a week since that conversation.

I applied over a week ago to All Saints and haven't heard anything :( I'm already a Baylor employee, so I am a little disappointed that I have not been contacted about a video interview.
