Nurses New Nurse

Updated:   Published

Hello Everyone!

I wanted to start this thread for those who are applying to the winter 2019 nurse residency cohort for Baylor Scott & White Health. This is so we can ask questions and help other possible future team members through the application and hiring process.

Good luck! :specs:

Specializes in Cardiothoracic and Transplant ICU.

Yes, that is what I am hoping for too! Recruiter said he forwarded my information to the manager in the CVICU.

I haven't heard anything, and I haven't heard of anyone who has heard anything. A friend who currently works at Baylor said when she interviewed it was about a week after her video interview before she heard anything.

Someone in my class said she got called about an interview for MICU. I haven't heard anything, although I have been in contact with one of the recruiters who said they have been busy traveling so just to be patient and they will be contacting as they get time.

What did y'all apply for?

I applied to womens health centennial and ER at BUMC and Grapevine! What about yall?

Baylor Recruiters are at UTA today and another school tomorrow, so Im sure theyre pretty busy!

Hey y'all! Did you include your letters of reference in your application? Historically, reference letters don't go back to the applicant so my clinical instructors are wondering!

Nice! I did ER and critical care at Dallas, Plano, and Fort Worth. I am keeping an open mind though. ?

I did not include my references in the application! During our virtual job fair with them, they said we could bring them to an interview.

They specifically said do not include reference letters or transcripts in the application but to bring them to an interview if you get one!

Also, same I would love any job at Baylor. I've loved my clinicals there and heard such great things in general!

Awesome thank you!

They are not visiting my school until the end of this week so I have not had a chance to speak with them and the application does not specify exactly what they want!

SO if you google baylor nurse residency a page comes up with all the info on it...here is some of the key stuff..they don't come to my school until next Monday, but I found all of this online:)

Please limit your applications to three per division (Central Texas and North Texas)

Opportunities are posted by location. Specialty internships offered at each campus are listed within the posting

An updated resume is required and should include clinical rotations listed by semester

A cover letter is suggested

Please do not attach letters of recommendation or transcripts to your online application. We recommend that you bring these documents to your interview if you are invited to meet with a hiring manager

How was your experience at the fair? Was there a lot of people at the booth?

Hi I did a virtual job fair because I am at Texas Tech, but we had about 50 or so students sign up to see their presentation. I am from Waxahachie and have lived in DFW my whole life; they have a great reputation. I believe they said they hired over 1100 graduate nurses throughout Texas last year so that's exciting! I have no clue how many they are taking for each specialty, but they did say that they would do their very best to help find a place for you. The recruiters are very nice!
