I applied to Temple for the ED. I haven’t heard anything yet so I’m hopeful. I have interviews at other hospitals line up, but I’d like to work here!

They wont do any interviews until after the GN expo on the 22. So it is highly encouraged to go to that if you can.

Have an in person interview next week in the ICU at BUMC that I set up around the 12th. Really hope I get it!

I’m new to the area! So what’s y’alls top choices for hospitals? I’ve heard mixed things about BSW. My friend works there now and said the pay is the lowest out of the whole area! Not sure if that plays a role in y’alls decision but i’d like some insight

I knew that BSW was low paying because I know a couple of people who work there as well. I was disappointed when I heard the pay for the residency. It was even lower than I expected and I have a family to provide for. HOWEVER, I am in it for the experience. And they have good benefits and they give a raise every 6 months for your first 2 years.

I think that you really just have to figure out what you want? For me, the position is literally my dream job. And it is a level 1 trauma center. Plus the culture, from what I have heard, is amazing. I know someone who started at BSW and said that, as a new grad, they really take care of their nurses and don't throw them under the bus like some hospitals. I'd make a pros and cons list to figure out what it is that you're actually looking for.

$25/hr, $1 increase every 6 months capping after like 2 years

Not horrible, Seems pretty standard for new grads in this area ? Med city was way worse.

The recruiter didn't mention this so now I'm really hyped lol I was all in at $25. He did mention that it was an additional $3.75 for critical care pay and another $5 for working nights.

But Med City only pays you a $1,000 stipend every two weeks for the length of your units internship (between 12 weeks-6 months). The $27 is after you complete your internship.

Good luck to you! Do you mind if I ask when you completed your digital interview/did your phone screening?
