  1. Yeah I haven’t heart this and I accepted a Position March 3rd... I really hope it isn’t because I’m moving from out of state and have a family. ?
  2. I’m Gonna jump in here. For the employee heath appointment, are you guys wearing scrubs?. I know we’re taking badge photos. But I didn’t remember them saying anything about what to wear.
  3. When applying to take your NCLEX in Texas, can you apply online if you currently reside out of state? Or do you have to apply through a paper application since your current residence is out of state?
  4. That’s stressful! Ok well I’m glad I’m not alone. I had combed through past boards and never saw anything about back to back interviews being scheduled. I was mostly curious if it made a difference in how long it takes to hear back. Thanks for replying! Good luck on your interview!
  5. Anyone else who had to schedule an in person interview self schedule into a time slot? I’m curious if all the residencies set their interviews up with back to back candidates interviewing all day. ?
  6. I knew that BSW was low paying because I know a couple of people who work there as well. I was disappointed when I heard the pay for the residency. It was even lower than I expected and I have a family to provide for. HOWEVER, I am in it for the experience. And they have good benefits and they give a raise every 6 months for your first 2 years. I think that you really just have to figure out what you want? For me, the position is literally my dream job. And it is a level 1 trauma center. Plus the culture, from what I have heard, is amazing. I know someone who started at BSW and said that, as a new grad, they really take care of their nurses and don't throw them under the bus like some hospitals. I'd make a pros and cons list to figure out what it is that you're actually looking for.
  7. Thank you! You’ll have to keep me updated on how the process is going for you as well. I was sent an Email by the time we hung up to self schedule.
  8. My phone interview went well. It was just a recap of your preferred locations, your GPA, whether or not you're interested in an in-person interview etc. I didn't get too much more information but we did discuss whether being from out of state is a disadvantage. (I was highly concerned since my first choice was Dallas, and I don't have any networking opportunities since I am in Arkansas) He made it clear that being from out of state does NOT put you at a disadvantage and they will take your application just as seriously as applicants from in-state. I have an interview in March with Critical Care at Baylor University Medical Center Dallas. Keep faith in yourself! I know there's a TON of applicants and they're working through them as quickly as they can.
  9. Overall: 3.6 Nursing: 3.9 Critical Care Dallas Area ?
  10. I am applying for critical care. If I remember correctly, I put Baylor University in Dallas, Grapevine, and All Saints in Fort Worth. I can update y'all on what I find out tomorrow after my phone interview if you'd like?
  11. I apologize for my ignorance of not knowing how to use this website. But yes, I got an email Friday to schedule a phone interview. (Which is Wednesday)
  12. Do you have any clue how long it'd take to get to in-person interviews? I've heard once you have a phone interview they schedule you an in person. Then I've also heard that there are people who've had phone interviews that never get an in-person?
  13. Mine is Dennis. I can't remember the exact hospitals I put down. (I'm not from the area, so I really just went over the hospitals in the best locations for kids, neighborhoods nearby with low crime rate, lots of parks, indoor play places etc... I have a 2 year old. They were all within a 30 min drive of the DFW area though.) Also-- Critical Care is what I am applying for.
  14. Has anyone done their phone interview? If so, what did the questions consist of?
