Baylor GN Internships June 2015

Published

Hello!

I thought I would make a thread for the Baylor GN internships of June 2015. Has anybody heard anything about interviews yet?

Mainly Temple TX. About 2 hours from DFW.

I realize this thread if for the June 2015 internship, but is anyone applying for the Sept/Oct cohort?

I am an RN with over a year exp in Med/Surg (two years as an LVN) and am looking to transition to the ICU. I have a phone interview next week with the ICU recruiter. Just curious how competitive the internship is, especially for already experienced nurses.

Hey! I've just applied to a bunch of Fall 2015 graduate nurse position ... did you just applied too?! How long did it take them to offer you an interview?!

Did anyone apply for the Winter Internship? Just curious. Wife has heard back from two recruiters so far. No in person yet. She has her BSN (just got it) and 1 year OR experience.

Hello, I'm a BSN student graduating next summer and will be interested in applying to the grad nurse program. Can some of you tell me about the application process and what helped you to get offered a job? Any info on your stats (gpa, volunteer, work experience) appreciated as well. :-)

@nursinghopeful Baylor offered me an ER position but I went with an ER position at seton.

It depends what area your interested in... For instance I wanted ED so I took ACLS/PALS. I did ride along with flight nurses, I had my EMT, volunteered over seas at a hospital.

Make me sure your resume is well written! That's what will get you the interview :)

once tou you get the interview try not to get too nervous & let your personality shine that is HUGE Factor in if your a fit for the unit.

Finish nursing school strong! Best of luck :)

Thank you for the advice TxTrauma!

I was offered the OR internship!!!! Super excited!! Any advice guys? How do I prepare!? Aside from passing my boards of course...

Hey kplp111! I know this post was about a year ago, but I was just wondering how the internship went! I just applied for the 2016 OR internship, and I am currently waiting on a response. I have about two years experience in cardiac telemetry with a BSN. I've been wanting to get into the OR internship ever since graduating college, but all I ever heard was "they want you to have floor experience first". :wacky: That is clearly not the case from what I have seen! I am getting impatient and would just like to know how your experience was getting into the program!

Well, I got the job! I'm still curious to know about the OR program so I can have a little bit of a heads-up on what to expect.

What is their starting pay?

Question... Where are some good areas/places to live when working at Baylor? Relocating from out of state and don't know much about Dallas! í ½í¸í ½í¹‚
