I've asked this question before and nobody can give me a clear answer. I think they are very similar! Sometimes, internships are not paid.. But from what I've heard most of them are.

Also, I think sometime there is no guarantee of hire after an internship and residencies are more long term.

Thank you for the clarification, SFAgrad2015! I live in San Antonio and finishing school here next week and it seems like there are HUNDREDS of residencies open to new grads here. I'm trying to relocate to Dallas but it seems really difficult to find any residency positions there. I'm not even sure where to look. I applied to Baylor last night but I don't have very high hopes (ADN here) but I can't find anything on Methodist residencies.

No problem! I'm also relocating from East Texas so I feel the struggle :/

Most of the residencies application periods have closed so that may be why you aren't finding many. There are still a few that haven't even opened yet though!
