I hate to admit it, but there have been times, where I've secretly thought to myself, "wouldn't it be fun to report this place to somebody?" Or see something wrong and think "oh, JCAHO would just sh*t if they saw that!"

It's a shame management only does things the way they are supposed to be done 1 week out of the year.

HA! Polly put the kettle on! That's why they needed lots of boiling water to have babies- in case JCAHO showed up.

Thinking that's sort of a Board of Health thing - which JCAHO may or may not gove a rats butt about - they seem more interested in my care plans and pain scales .

How about this one - what if you can *get* hot water but it takes like ten minutes of running the water?

On my floor's central wing it takes at least 10 minutes to get luke warm water! On the west wing it is too damn hot the second you turn it on!

I'm thinking that if the BOH closes an eatery for not having water they sure as heck would close a hospital. No water kinda make universal precations hard doesn't it?

It's happened here too. In fact, we now have microwavable bedbath cloths on our supply cart, so did we benefit from that debacle? They are actually quite nice to use.

Well, hmm. I was just wondering if you could wash your hands effectively with no hot running water, not to mention giving baths, etc. I don't know. I'm an idealist. ;>) Just wondering what the 'rules' were.

Maybe it's me but the visual I just got from " It's terrible to see a screaming baby being rinsed off in a cold sink." is not a pleasant one at all for me.

Don't tell me anymore please.
