Hello everyone!
Pls give me some idea how much is the base pay for an RN with BSN, over a year of experience. I am trying to apply some nursing home here in Greensboro,NC..
Your output is very much appreciated!
I was told that they are offering me 19.10/hr, i think that is lowball...u think??

I live in the midwest and that's about what it is here. I think it's low too, but it is what it is.

In my state, not yours, RNs in LTC aren't paid much more than LVNs. (25 versus 22 for LVN) ....Unless they are in an admin type of position (like a DON or something)
I think it's because they don't "need" RNs and could get away with staffing all LVNs.

I'm in the midwest and my town has 2 nursing homes. The one gives credit for years of experience, so I was at 22.80 there. The other is a very small, private home (30 residents) and all RN's start at 19.00.

Keep in mind that the average pay takes into account the top pay rates for nurses with experience and likely does not reflect new grad rates. Plus. Like I said, at Least in my area LTC pays less than the hospitals and the pay for hospital workers is included.

In my side of CA, I would not take anything less than $25/hr.
EDIT: this is exclusively for my side of CA

In my area of Iowa, the average pay is 23.00 an hour. Since you have your BSN, I would ask for that to start with. Hey, the worst they could say is NO. :)

Wages will vary from place to place, even amongst corporate NH's. BSN means nothing where I work and your not given a higher wage because of it.
If it does, I don't wanna be a part of that company..Just saying

Pennsylvania: diploma RN with 3 years experience, $23. $2 weekend differential, $1.50 shift diff. Promoted to ADON, (After a little over a year) $28 no shift/weekend differential. Where I'm at, LTC pays more than acute care.
