Published

Just thought I'd start a thread for all of us applying! I'm planning on completing my application pretty soon. Taking the CCRN this week, and then I'll be ready to go! :o How are you all faring?

Also, does anyone know anything about the Tampa campus? I'm going to try and go for that one.

Specializes in Operating Room, ICU, CCRN.

The interview went well...just nerve wrecking lol but they were really nice and tried to make us feel relaxed. Just trying to wait patiently for their decision.

Well all application materials are in, 305 on GRE. Hopefully that can land me an interview. Now we wait!

Armytwin and kbl7 what are your stats?

My GPA is absolute crap if looking at the cumulative but above a 3.3 if looking at the last 60 which I believe they do. 1.5yrs mixed adult ICU and 1.5 yrs Pediatric CICU by matriculation, CCRN-CMC, TNCC, PALS, ACLS. 8 or so hours of shadow time. 305 on the GRE.

GPA isn't great, we'll see what happens.

Specializes in MICU.

I think you should get an interview. How is your grade in chemistry?

The course isn't finished yet, still in progress.

I hope I get myself an interview. I have a 3.48 cummultive gpa. My bsn gpa is 3.95. My last 60 credits is a 4.0. My science gpa is a 3.79. I have two years CVICU doing fresh open hearts. I also have 1 year helicopter flight nurse experience with the fire dept which I work now part time. 1 year ER experience. 3 years fire rescue experience as a paramedic. CCRN, I shadowed 100 hours with two different crnas. My GRE is crap 148v 147q and 4.5awa. I have to retake that gre.

I have everything submitted except for my last letter of recommendation that I'm still waiting on...(c'mon doc...).

Stats:

3.6 overall GPA, 3.8 in the last 60 hours.

2 years general ICU at a level II trauma center

321 on the GRE (160 quant, 161 verbal)

Taking the CCRN on 3/16.

PALS, ACLS

I am hoping for a call for the next round of interviews, if i can hurry and get that last letter sent...

hey folks. can anyone tell me how long the personal essay has to be? and generally what they look for in the essay. the description in the website was kinda vague.

Specializes in ICU.

This sounds pretty bad but I literally copied and pasted my essay for another school. Talked about why I chose CRNA over other professions and what I hoped to add to the field. I got a call for an interview so I guess it was okay.

Thanks! that's actually really helpful. And I plan to copy and paste some stuff from an essay i wrote for another school also. How many pages did you have btw? My buddy who's in the program currently typed up 6 pages. I wonder if that's too much or if it's typical.

and good luck in that interview!

Mine was about a page to a page and a half double spaced. Not long at all: intro, two paragraphs, and a conclusion. 6 pages seems a lot, and I doubt they will read the entire thing if it's that long lol. I'm already going to another school, but good luck! Hope you get that interview!
