  1. The other course is literally what you said, a fluff course. Chem and physics isn't bad, just keep up with the readings and understand the information. It helps to have had a recent course. The physics portion is literally just one section of the course and some of one test. Mostly focused on gas laws. Be prepared to learn everything yourself, this is grad school after all, you will not be babysat. Ya, I had a full time job. A lot of time worked 4-5 12s a week and I still had a life just fine.
  2. As others have said... CCRN GRE>305 ideal Good references from manager, attending., CRNA or anesthesiologist. Shadow experience If you get an interview you are good, just don't throw any red flags. The entire invite is an interview, not just the sit down with the director portion. AKA, ask questions, be involved in the presentations, but don't be annoying or confronting. Definitely take the head start courses, all of them. They are entirely possible while still working full time. Expect to drop around 13k out of pocket with head start courses and deposits. It will be worth it.
  3. Your experience is fine. Have BLS, ACLS, CCRN and get your CMC and/or CSC. You have the chem, add a patho class or physics. You'll be fine, just look at the requirements for the schools you are interested in and tailor your resume to fit.
  4. See y'all in January! Accepted
  5. It's a CCRN/chem style "assessment", it apparently has no bearing on admission status. It wasn't exactly hard, just similar to the GRE in the sense that if you haven't used it, you lose it.
  6. I said this to someone else and I'll say it to you because I mean the best. Don't even worry about that right now. You are a long long ways off. I have my BSN and BS, experience and certifications, and my head is still playing games with me about being accepted. You're still 120+ credits, 3-4+ years, and 1000+ butt wipes away from being even close to applying. BTW, I'm in Missouri too. I'd recommend getting the GED, starting an ADN program, getting your BSN online while working. Obtain A's, not B's and C's, those will only hinder your progress. Get into an ICU out of school if you can, most likely you'll have to start in a community ICU. I started in Jeff City, I'm now at STL Childrens. Good luck.
  7. To be very blunt, I think you are getting a little ahead of yourself here. It's my understanding that you're not a nurse yet? Not that becoming an RN is incredibly hard, but it isn't exactly a cake walk either... My best personal advice is to get your ADN. This will put you into an RN career more quickly which will give you the experience you need. Try to get into an ICU after the ADN, ANY ICU at first. Then attend an online ADN-BSN program while working. This will get you the research, stats, and health assessment class that most CRNA schools require. Also, if you don't have a recent chemistry, anatomy, microbiology class, etc, you need those. After all that is complete, THEN worry about which CRNA school to attend. This is a long process. 14-18months for ADN. 1 yr for online BSN if doing full time. Plus any added time for CRNA prereqs you don't have.
  8. If you follow this link... The Graduate School - University of South Carolina You can sign in and the click the little plus sign, it should drop down and then show an admission decision status.
  9. My app still says decision pending. So I assume that's good, I didn't submit till late March. 2yrs Adult ICU, almost 1 yr Peds CICU. Two Bachelors. GRE 305. GPA 3.4 last 60?? ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CCRN, CMC. Not great but hoping it gets me something.
  10. Same here, no email for an interview.
  11. GA have you called and asked anything? I haven't heard from them either. Considering there is no interview I suppose it's all or nothing.
  12. I haven't, however, its only been 4 business days. If nothing today then definitely next week. It seems as though the previous interview session didn't hear anything for about 2 weeks.
  13. Thanks for the responses. I have everything required and a solid GRE. At this point my mind is playing tricks on me and I keep telling myself I probably said something wrong in the interview, but I'm sure all is well. Two days post interview and the waiting it already killing me!
  14. I was there with you as well, from MO. That interview was really laid back, however slightly nerve racking to me due to small table/close quarters. Hopefully I didn't say anything they didn't like! It would be nice if we knew something this week.
