Barry CRNA Starting 2017

Published

Just thought I'd start a thread for all of us applying! I'm planning on completing my application pretty soon. Taking the CCRN this week, and then I'll be ready to go! :o How are you all faring?

Also, does anyone know anything about the Tampa campus? I'm going to try and go for that one.

Ok thank you ..hopefully we both hear some good news soon :)

It's mentioned in the previous posts that if they decide to interview you with a lower gre score that you could be offered a conditional admission, under the condition that you receive a score of 300 before the start of the program.

Specializes in Operating Room, ICU, CCRN.
Hi ArmyTwinRN

I was told that during the interview they give you a chemistry test...is that accurate? Did you have to take a test? If so was it challenging?

Thanks

Hi ICUNURSE

Sorry I'm late responding...I didn't receive a notification...but ditto to what kbl said. If you don't use it you lose it and it's not used as a deciding factor for acceptance. Good luck to you!!

I hope I get myself an interview. I have a 3.48 cummultive gpa. My bsn gpa is 3.95. My last 60 credits is a 4.0. My science gpa is a 3.79. I have two years CVICU doing fresh open hearts. I also have 1 year helicopter flight nurse experience with the fire dept which I work now part time. 1 year ER experience. 3 years fire rescue experience as a paramedic. CCRN, I shadowed 100 hours with two different crnas. My GRE is crap 148v 147q and 4.5awa. I have to retake that gre.

Hi there,

I have been following this thread and I see you were accepted congrats! Just wondering if you were ever required to retake your GRE? My stats are similar to yours..my GRE scores were 147 quant and 152 verbal

Hey, I was not required to retake it. However I am required to finish my chem course (finishes next week) and to renew my pals. This by no means is a guarantee that you won't have to retake it. I believe they look at the candidate as a whole when making these decisions. Your scores look great. If your gpa is solid then you have a good chance of not needing to retake your gpa. If you have your ccrn then that helps too.

Thanks for the input! Yea I have a good GPA..I think 3.6 something total for like 200 hours and last 60 is close to 3.8. I have my ICU experience, CCRN and everything else. I was just mainly concerned about my GRE. But we'll see what happens. Congrats to all who were accepted!

Your stats sound really good. It has been my speculation that the later you interview the more competitive it gets. Also I was told by Barry that you can retake just a single section of the gre to improve that score. They take the best scores for each section. So you can skip over the verbal and analytical portions if you want to improve just your quant.

I think I'm gonna break the internet with all of my email refreshes...so anxious!!

Has anyone else received a call/email for a interview in May?

How may years of experience do you guys have ?

I have 3 years ICU. But I think as long as u have at least 1 year it should be enough.
