Banner Nurse Fellows March 2010

U.S.A. Arizona

I was just wondering if anyone who had applied for the Banner Nurse Fellows program had heard back from them yet. I'm going out of my mind waiting to hear from them.

Thanks guys! I am so nervous and excited I could ralph, :barf02:I was actually notified last week, but almost missed the message, because it was on my cell. They still have a few more interviews to set up, so try to stay positive!!!

GOOD LUCK everyone it is truly an honor to be a Banner Nurse Fellow:).

I am currently a Fellow, and just FYI, some people in my class got called for an interview way after the cut off date. Some were even notified a few weeks before class started. So don't give up hope. I approached with the attitude that I was going to be a nurse with or without them, and they'd be blessed to have ME!!

I am one of those people who was interviewed way after the cut off date. I actually applied for the March 2010 cohort and they asked if I wanted to interview for Oct. 2009 and I said heck yeah. So like you said everyone should keep thier hopes up because you never know. I was on the MCCNP waiting list for one month total and was excepted into the Banner program. I am enjoying it but it is very stressful at times LOL I am sure you know that :). Good Luck to everyone.

Well, I had my interview last Wed. and the ladies were very nice. But I think I blew it, I was so nervous! I am normally great at interviews but I want this opportunity so much!!!! Now I feel like I am torturing myself on what I should have or could have said differently. Oh, well it is in God's hands now! I hope it goes better for the rest of you!:redpinkhe

Ok, today is Nov. 20th, has anyone heard anything? I applied with a 4.0 GPA and have heard nothing! I already have a spot in January's GCC weekend option that I was encouraged to accept (although now I wish I would have deferred because I really want the BNF position) and I have to pay for the GCC classes in a few days or get dropped and start this whole thing all over again . . . AGH! Please, if you have heard anything, that you were accepted or declined, I would love to know. I have this horrible feeling my application never was even seen :crying2:

Hi guys, so today is the day!! Has anyone heard anything yet? I know it is still early, but I can't stop checking my email over and over again. Just wanted to say good luck to all of you out there and I will post something as soon as I get anything!! Fingers crossed!!!

All applications that were turned in by the October 16th deadline for March 2010 Cohort have been reviewed and those that accumulated the required points, (They determine who gets interviewed on a point scale...GPA,NET score, Essays are all awarded so many points) should have been contacted and interviewed by now. We will be emailed today letting us know the results. Since you were never called for an interview, I'm assuming since you were placed at GCC, the fellows program saw your placement on the MCCD website so thats why they didnt contact you. Just my thoughts. How was your NET score and essays? Wait til the end of today and if you haven't heard anything I would call the fellows program and speak to someone. They also conduct late interviews for other potential candidates I hear. But your crunched for time so I would definitely call. Don't give up hope!

--------- was at GWCC visiting with Banner 19 yesterday to check in on our progress and she informed us that she has filled the next Cohort and will be sending your messages in the afternoon (Just like she did for us) so I would expect that you will get your emails about 4pm just before she leaves.

Remember you can reapply if you did not get selected it is not a reflection on you or you as a nurse to be. And an early congratulations for those of you who will be starting in March 2010, it is one heck of a ride but SOOOOOOOOOO much fun and well worth it!

Can anyone tell me what the interview is like? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Can people get in who dont have perfect 4.0 gpa? I am a little ways off from even trying, but I was hoping to have my application in by June for the October 2010 cohort.

Thanks

Yes you can get in without having a 4.0 I had a 3.8 and 70 on the net reading and 97 on the net math. Just go to the info meeting and get your application and try you never know what will happen. I thought I did not do well on the interview but I got in so keep your hopes up and you will do fine. Good Luck

Ok, I work for Banner and this is my 3rd time applying for the BNFP and I DID NOT get in. :angryfire I'm so frusterated and am going to go to GCU for their fast-track BSN program over at St. Joe's. Banner is not putting their own employees through the program anymore and are trying to get non-banner people in their program to get you hooked in. E-mails went out this afternoon on acceptance or denial.
