I apologize in advance if I am just dense and can't get this but when I apply on Banner Health's website I cannot see a place to upload a cover letter. I see resume, under "profile" but where can I attach cover letter? Do I have to actually add it to the resume document as one?
Thank you if you can enlighten me!

I could not find a place to upload a cover letter either, so I just didn't had one. I haven't really had success with Banner.

I think Banner requires you to know someone there to get a job. I have applied many times just for PCT positions and have never even had a call back. Such is luck.
Thank you for the information. I will stop wasting my time with them.

I think they filter resume key phrases etc via computers and recruiters. And then they probably concentrate mostly on your answers to their online questionnaire. I responded to a position and it took about 2 months to get a call back. The Banner recruiter phone number might only be wired for voice message as it tells you to follow the online application process.
Thank you all for responding. I'll hope for the best!
Well I got a call from Banner and I have a phone interview this week. Just FYI you MUST know someone at Banner who can contact the hiring manager for you. I'll keep you guys posted as the interview process progresses.
Well I had my 1st interview with Banner and did well enough to get a 2nd interview for a PCa position in Med/Surg. Seems like a very busy floor but it will be worth it to gain some good experience. I'm also attending my last year of nursing school so it will be a challenge to do both school and work full time. But others have done it so I'm sure I can. :)

If you want to add a cover letter, make it part of your electronic resume file.
If you want to work at Banner, be patient. There are many Banner facilities in AZ, some huge, some small, so it depends on where you are applying. I do not believe that you have to know someone in the company to get hired. You do have to compete with everyone else who wants to work for a large healthcare facility.
Good Luck
I just wanted to give an update with my Banner interview. I received an offer and accepted the position. This position could lead to a new grad RN position in May when I graduate. I'll be working on a Med/Surg floor that mostly has post-op then medical pt. I'm sure it will be an adjustment, since this is my first direct pt. job. Banner is not an easy company to get into but I've heard they treat their employees well. Good luck to everyone!

Knowing someone isn't the only way to get in. There are ways to get your name out there and do more foot work than just applying online. It won't always work, but if you are persistent you can get in front of the right people. Its that process along the way when your cover letter comes in very handy!
