I guess i am just feeling sorry for my self... I am off work due to a foot injury. I have had partial amputation of my right foot and i am recuperating very slowly and I am feeling so stircrazy and I miss working.... I cannot believe that a month ago I thought I would love to be off work and watching TV.... how wrong was I !!! I am sorry to vent!!! I cannot stand being waited on . My hubby and kids say they love to help me and take care of me... but I just feel so helpless.... I guess I am a big ungrateful baby. I just am bored out of my everloving mind.... I hope everyone is doing well.... I pray God gives me the strength to get better and a big attitude adjustment that does not require a pill!lol....

I do understand what you are saying. I had foot surgery, was out of work for 10 weeks and couldn't drive for 6 weeks (vehicles were all clutch and I was allowed no weight on foot). I got so stir crazy I was begging everyone I knew to get me out of the house! To this day my boys think that pain meds make me mean! Didn't tell them I wasn't taking it and that mean was just my natural state at the time.
A funny outcome of this: My son was drafting everyone he knew in town to come drive me around. One man from town was transporting me around for about two weeks frequently before it occurred to me that he wasn't just taking me places, he was taking me out! (A little bit oblivious, huh?). We ended up dating for about 3 years.

i hurt my back 18 months ago, and ended up being off work for almost 6 months. i remember feeling exactly as you describe! i didn't want to be an invalid, i didn't want to be waited on and i got bored with tv real fast! i was thrilled when i finally got the ok to go back to work and start making my own money again!
i hope your recovery goes quickly and that you recover fully.

So sorry to hear of your illness. Here's hoping for a better future and a complete healing. Is loosing part of your foot going to interfer with working?

I can understand how you feel; being dependent on others when you are used to making your own money and caring for yourself can be difficult to adjust to. If you don't mind me asking, what facilitated the partial amputation of your foot? And, as previously asked, will you be able to return to nursing in full capacity? Best wishes on a speedy recovery!

Oh this is so close. I got lucky and got to go back to work in three months. Everyone here advised me to get a hobby that used my brain. I did those number pulzels, read, even learned how to make a quilt. My heart goes out to u as have been there done that and got the t-shirt. My kids swore they would not be around if I ever got another steroid shot as they do make me mean.
Take it one day at a time and do as u are told by healthcare provider. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm right there with you. I had a TVH one week ago and I too thought I would enjoy letting my husband take care of things and being off of work. Last night I decided I was feeling well enough to make dinner...I'm paying dearly for it this morning. I am so sick of daytime tv - I swear there are only about three shows: paternity tests, weight loss, and home makeovers.arrrgggh!

Eww, being off during the writers strike!!! TV tends to be kinda boring to begin with. I do feel for you, had to be off work for 6 weeks with a pulled shoulder muscle. It was my right shoulder so I couldn't easily use the mouse on the computer so bright me started using my left hand... not a good idea for long periods. My left arm hurt as much as my right shoulder. In pain, can't do for self like you usually can and bored I can definely relate to that.
