Back to school....

Chemistry wasn't my friend either but I made a "B" in the class. Use this second chance to study a lot before class begins. See if there are any youtube chemistry lectures or other websites about chemistry you can view online. I know that sometimes its good to hear information again from somewhere else before it sinks in. Do your chapter reviews in your textbook and if you still don't understand sign up for tutoring when school begins. If its available take up the offer. You can do it, just stay focus. Khan Academy has some good chemistry stuff, and helped me grasp some concepts. Find a study group with serious students (maybe even other nursing hopefuls?) and stick with it. Review the material before class. Use RateMyProfessors if you have a choice of professor. Don't be afraid to ask questions or make an appointment to review something you don't understand. Go to the tutoring center. You can pass this class, you just have to work hard and really apply yourself.

I was super afraid of taking chemistry, even though I had done okay in high school chem. I worked really hard this summer session, and am about to take my final this week with a 97% in the class. You can do it.

I failed Chemistry 101 miserably the first time I took it. Now I have an MSN - get back on that horse and ride it!

I wouldn't let the experiences of a fast-paced summer semester, especially with one class, break your dream. I ended up dropping three classes this summer (thankfully during the full refund period) after determining I wouldn't be able to do as well as I would like in the particular classes, as well as to focus on the one class I kept (thankfully, it was a graduating class requirement vs. a clinical prerequisite). One of the three classes I dropped this summer was chemistry (in my case, this class goes towards a future BSN vs. a prerequisite). Consider taking chemistry this fall (if you've not already done so), and going for clinicals the next round that you can get into them.

Fall and spring semesters have less pressure in many ways. In addition to Khan Academy recommended above, check out https://www.open2study.com/courses/chemistry for when the class opens up next. The professor does a great job at covering a lot of the key areas for beginners. Also, while we all need to learn how to balance chemical equations as manually as possible, I found Balance Chemical Equation - Online Balancer - Chemistry Online Education to be extremely helpful; it also helps with stoichiometry.

I'm currently taking a summer Chemistry course, and I know what you're saying. It's a lot! It's hectic! What I did to ease the pain is I bought the book a week or two before class and I just read, read, read. By the time class started, I had a lot of material under my belt and if I honestly did not get something, I asked the professor questions until it was clear. Now, I realize not everyone can do what I did, but it helps if you can self-learn. I would recommend this even for a fall or regular length semester.... Being ahead of the material really helps. You can do this, I know it. There are many great resources for Chem out there. I used the Internet for balancing equations and also nomenclature.

Did you end up passing anatomy and physiology? I was reading some of your old posts and I'm in the same position as you were. I'm failing my anatomy class and thinking about dropping it.

I actually transferred schools in the end. I go to La Salle University and I did pass A&P1 and A&P2 with a B average in both. :)
