Back to Back Tests

Published

On Wednesday, I was picked for a $90 blood test. Usually, I get tested about once weekly, give or take. For the first time in a year, the very next day I got picked for a $68 urine panel. Two tests, back to back.

No history of dilutes, no positives...shoot, the blood test wouldn't have even been resulted by the time I was selected to test the next day. I tested at 8 pm at an urgent care for the blood on Wednesday and then was selected for the urine at 4 am the next day.

Just goes to show that you absolutely must stick to your requirements because they can and do randomly pull back to back tests. You aren't clear for a few days just because you got tested the day before. I'm just grateful that I keep my nose squeaky clean.

It was an expensive week in monitoring land.

I haven't had back to back tests in almost three years; however, I've had two in one week.

I'd like to add that I feel like testing isn't truly randomized. I requested travel to Washington a year ago and they selected me to test on each day of my flights in addition to my random three I had that month. Five tests in total.

If anyone is traveling, always make sure you arrange your flights to accommodate drug testing because there is no exception.

I have also had back to back tests once. No reason for it, no dilutes, etc. Just their way of catching those people who decide to cheat because they just tested, so they think they're clear for awhile.

No, its not always random, you are correct. Particularly when it comes to travel. I had to get a test excluded one day because all the labs were closed due to a blizzard. They actually called every participating lab in a 100 mile radius to confirm closing. The roads just weren't passable. I got "randomly" selected every single day until the labs reopened and I was finally able to test, then it went back to a more random pattern.

This was the first time I have been called back to back with no real precipitating reason.

"random" Hah! That word makes me laugh out loud...according to Webster the alternate spelling of random is m o n e y....ludicrous

For a while there, mine were very random.....every other Thursday.

How does this work? Is there a time frame that you can call to find out if you have been selected? Say I call at 5 AM and have not been selected, if I call at noon could a testing have popped up? Or later at 3 PM? Am I going to be obsessing with checking something every other hour every single day?

And Lord have mercy. A urine test the day after AFTER a blood test? Like I didn't already beleive this was financially driven.....

Edit For PS to anyone who is privy to my situation: I just reapplied to the BON. I had no idea how to proceed after "casually calling" to get prices on the evaluations. I emailed an investigator to say I had contacted these places and never heard back. So, I just reapplied and figured the hell will rain down from there. You folks are the only people I can talk to about what I'm going through and i'm glad this place exists. It makes me feel less alone and lost (thank you!). My family doesn't understand the workings (heck, I dont either) and i feel like my classmates have moved foward and on.

No, it is a once daily check in. The time that you can check in depends on your program. I can check in between 0400 and 1600 to test. The program is closed outside of those hours, so if I don't check in by 1600, I would have missed a check in. If I'm selected when I check in, I have to test that same day. Only one check in per day is necessary.

But yeah, the moral of this story is...If anyone is tempted to try to cheat the drug tests, just don't.

I'm a Thursday or Friday girl. Never a Wednesday or Tuesday in 1 1/2 years.

Watch, you may have just jinxed yourself and you'll be called tomorrow! That would be my luck, at least.

Pretty much 99.999% Wednesday here...guess the .001 is "random"

The only word that comes to mind is sickening

Nah, I tested Friday and Wednesday is my birthday. I'm betting 50 bucks on Thursday. Day after. My case worker more or less told me that they set the patterns and choose the panel ratio mix. She changed mine from mostly option 1 to option 3 and and 4 while we are the phone. My request because they're both ETG. Long story.
