That is INCORRECT.. From what I understand. Temporary RN LIcense is only issued for those applicants about to write or is waiting for the CRNE results. Even if you have been made eligible to take the exam it does not mean you automatically can apply for a Temporary license. you still have to meet those 7 requirements as follows: evidence of safe nursing practice (1250hrs), english exam, verification of RN license in your home country, Police clearance, school from which you graduated, passing the CRNE. Either one of these requirements not submitted by the apllicant (exeption for the CRNE exam) that applicant can not apply for temporary license. I stand corrected. Thank you! And Yes you can take the exam without the verification forms from the employer and the regulatory body. Those are needed and the other requirement for the RN registration at CNO (license registration).

Hi everyone!

I dont know if CNO already change their rules about temporary license. There are members in this forum who are also eligible to take the exam(Feb 2011) and now practicing as tempRN. Upon receiving their eligibility, they look for an employer and apply for tempRN in CNO.

I submitted my application and sent verification to my previous employers, colleges, and regulatory bodies.

FYI: those members your talking about has complied with all the requirements. It is stated clearly on their website and on the piece of paper CNO has sent me with my eligibility that to secure a temp. License you have to complete all requirements (exception; CRNE) Thank you!

Temporary Class registration is available to applicants in

the Registered Nurse (RN) category and the Registered

Practical Nurse (RPN) category. It allows individuals who

have met all of the requirements for registration, except

for successful completion of the Canadian Registered

Nurse Examination (CRNE) or the Canadian Practical

Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE), to practise

nursing in Ontario while they wait to write the exam or

while waiting for exam results. Temporary registration

lasts six months

May God Bless us all...

To give you guys an insight how long it took me to get my eligibility, but it all depends on the CNO and how timely you submit your documents and ofcourse you should also consider mail service. So if your in a hurry I suggest you make use of express mail services. What I know about the process is that once the CNO has received your application form and assesment fees they will open a file for you 2 weeks after receipt of your fees and application. So that beeing said, here's my timeline: June I requested for the initial application package for registration, 3 days after I received emvia email my initial application. August, I sent the verification forms to my school ( 2 weeks after CNO receieved my school credentials as I opted that my school send it through registered mail) august 29 I submitted my application form and assesment fee (178$). September the CNO increased the assesment fee to 650$. Sept. 16 I received a post mail saying that they have received my application and fees and my school credentials and that they have opened a FILE for me and that assesment process will begin and it will take 12 weeks for the assesment time! October 26 I received postal mail stating that I AM ELIGIBLE TO take the CRNE exam! Together with that letter of eligibility are verification forms for my previous employers (for the purpose of evidence SAFE NURSING PRACTICE - 1250 hours et.al Nursing experinece for the last 5 years!) For those who graduated with in 5 years they don't have to provide evidence of safe nursing practice!) And another verfication form to be sent at the regulatory body in my case, the PRC in the philippines. So you see, what I'm pointing at is that the CNO only assessed my school credentials for me to be eligible to write the CRNE! Its your school's nursing program that should be similar to Canadian nursing Education. The BET is another way for the CNO to further assess your nursing education if it does not meet the Canadian Nursing standard! Hope that clears everything..

hi larret!

I graduated year 2007 and I don't have any paid working experience back home. How can I provide evidence of safe nursing practice? Should I write a letter stating what I did in the following years after I graduated? And do you have any idea where I can apply for ielts review program? Thank you and May Godbless you!

to senior/ those how received a bet form from cno.

i am a registered nurse working currently in kuwait and awaiting my ppr from london chc.

2 months ago i sent my application to cno and waiting their reply. i believe they will ask me to complete a bet since i studied in anesthesia( 2years associate of sciences degree) then nursing(2 years + 2 years of anesthesia= b.s degree in nursing). it looks definitely different to ontario nursing curriculum.

so to get the idea of bet i really appreciate if you could email me a blank bet form to prepare it in advance since it has taken a long time for others to fill up. here is my email [email protected]

tnx a million.

If you have graduated with in the last 5 yrears from the date you have started your registration from the College you don't have to provide evidence of safe nursing care, the College will accept your school credentials as evidence for safe nursing practice(1125hrs). Its in their website. College of Nurses of Ontario

. Oh and you don't have to write them a letter of your life's history after graduation. They only need your application packet, fee and verification form from your school, then wait for further instructions. The sooner the better as 2011 is fast appraoching you only have a year so you won't have to comply with providing the evidence for safe nursing practice.. Goodluck!

pickles? adverseeffects? do you have your Eligibility now? ill be happy to know that..
