anyone who completed this table,,pls help me,,thank you

Hi gryanero!

3 months after my application, they sent me BET. It took me a month to finish my BET. Now I'm just waiting for my eligibility to take the exam(In God's will). Its been 1 month and 2 weeks now since I sent my BET in their office.

hello gailtan

is your assessment package included an employer request form and a form to be send in a regulating body in the Philippines? and an assessment fee of $678?

pls PM me your YM add... thanks :)

I graduated 2002. And I think from what I undesrtand with regards with the CNO examination eligibility requirement: for you to be exam eligible you have to have a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing in Canada or its equivalent. So for an IEN such as me, I guess my Nursing education is an equivalent with the Canadian standard. That's why I was made exam eligible and didn't have to undergo a BET assesment. Oh lucky me! Thank you SLU! Proud to be a Louisian!!. I'm takin the exam next year... Best of luck to all those taking the exam next year!

hello larret!

when did you submit your assessment package to the CNO? was your assessment fee $678?

Hey there! My initial application package sent to me via email was verification forms for the SCHOOL credentials (OTR nursing hours, course descriptons) and an assemnet fee, last year it was 178$ for you to have an assessment by the CNO, just recently that they inreased their fees to 678$. After I have submitted my application packet and CNO has received my school documents I waited for 1.5 months and the next thing I know isI am exam eligible, together with the letter of my eligibility to take the CRNE were verification forms from my previous employers and for the verification form of my PRC license. So you see people, it only takes your shcool credentials for you to be made exam eligible. Safe nursing practice (1250 hours) et.al Nursing experience is just one requirement for you REGISTRATION TO the COLLEGE of nurses of Ontario, just as the CRNE exam is another requirement out of the 7 requirements for registration. It really depends from your school credentials on how is it similar with the canadian standard! I have a friend who has like 4years of nursing experience in the Philippines but still have to undergo BET assersment. I also knew one who has recently graduated and had to undergo BET as well.. You get my point?

gailtan how many months did you takes to have your BET? thanks

To give you guys an insight how long it took me to get my eligibility, but it all depends on the CNO and how timely you submit your documents and ofcourse you should also consider mail service. So if your in a hurry I suggest you make use of express mail services. What I know about the process is that once the CNO has received your application form and assesment fees they will open a file for you 2 weeks after receipt of your fees and application. So that beeing said, here's my timeline: June I requested for the initial application package for registration, 3 days after I received emvia email my initial application. August, I sent the verification forms to my school ( 2 weeks after CNO receieved my school credentials as I opted that my school send it through registered mail) august 29 I submitted my application form and assesment fee (178$). September the CNO increased the assesment fee to 650$. Sept. 16 I received a post mail saying that they have received my application and fees and my school credentials and that they have opened a FILE for me and that assesment process will begin and it will take 12 weeks for the assesment time! October 26 I received postal mail stating that I AM ELIGIBLE TO take the CRNE exam! Together with that letter of eligibility are verification forms for my previous employers (for the purpose of evidence SAFE NURSING PRACTICE - 1250 hours et.al Nursing experinece for the last 5 years!) For those who graduated with in 5 years they don't have to provide evidence of safe nursing practice!) And another verfication form to be sent at the regulatory body in my case, the PRC in the philippines. So you see, what I'm pointing at is that the CNO only assessed my school credentials for me to be eligible to write the CRNE! Its your school's nursing program that should be similar to Canadian nursing Education. The BET is another way for the CNO to further assess your nursing education if it does not meet the Canadian Nursing standard! Hope that clears everything..

hello larret..

it's very very clear... thank you very much...

larret, the good thing in your situation is you can take now the exam and can have a temporary license even without the verification form to your previous employer and the PRC in the Philippines.. but those document should be send for registration as a nurse before or after passing the CRNE... am i right? im sorry... i clustered information to make it more precise...

Larret

thank you so much.. i'm enlightened with your information...

That is INCORRECT.. From what I understand. Temporary RN LIcense is only issued for those applicants about to write or is waiting for the CRNE results. Even if you have been made eligible to take the exam it does not mean you automatically can apply for a Temporary license. you still have to meet those 7 requirements as follows: evidence of safe nursing practice (1250hrs), english exam, verification of RN license in your home country, Police clearance, school from which you graduated, passing the CRNE. Either one of these requirements not submitted by the apllicant (exeption for the CRNE exam) that applicant can not apply for temporary license. I stand corrected. Thank you! And Yes you can take the exam without the verification forms from the employer and the regulatory body. Those are needed and the other requirement for the RN registration at CNO (license registration).

thank you soooooooooooo much larret... you'r the best!!!
