I sent my primary application 12 months ago, I was asked on march to submit additional documents, do a BET, submit Program description by nursing school and so on. I have submitted all by July and my papers are awaiting review.

I studied so:

2 years anesthesia = A.S degree in anesthesia then bridged to Nursing.

2 years in Nursing = B.S Degree in nursing in my final degree.

all and all 4 years+ 10 years experience.

2 years practical perfusion training.

So you've been waiting for the assessment result since July? Wow! I wonder when I'm going to receive mine. They received everything from the list just the first week of October. And I actually thought I could take the February CRNE in case i get eligible. They did not send me the BET form though. Which, made me wonder.

I think BET is not a requirment anymore.

Hi.. I also applied for registration at CNO last july. And they asked me to send the form and ask the University to send them a TOR, course description, etc. A letter was sent to me after 2 weeks indicating to wait for 3 months. Last week I've received a package asking me to send additional information like the employment, PRC, Masterals (wasn't able to finish it) and the IELTS or evidence of fluency.. and also the proof of status here in Canada. To those asking if its necessary to have PR status, yes. During the initial application they already asked me to submit my landing papers.

Sad to say that I got a 6.0 rating on writing, so I need to retake my IELTS here in Canada. I thought evidence of fluency will be required if you're about to write the CRNE.

I'm not yet prepared for another exam, its very stressful.. I'm thinking to take the Training/General.

Does anybody knows any person who had assessment at the initial phase (just the school of nursing) and was eligible to write CRNE?

I read that if your school's curriculum is equivalent to Ontario and you have graduated less than 5 years, you will be eligible..

I graduated from a best nursing school in Manila.. (someone told me that my school is accredited) but then I graduated more than 7 years.. =(

And I didn't receive BET also.

Specializes in NICU, PICU, PCVICU and peds oncology.

IELTS must be at the academic level.

Most nursing schools in the Philippines are not considered equivalent to Canadian university education.

Correct me if I am wrong but last time I checked CNO accepts General IELTS as well, unless they recently changed it to Academic only.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

CNO according to their website doesn't indicate whether General or Academic

:tinkbll: CNO accepts both categories. :)

Guys let us not post unevidence-based information because it will bring confusion for those applicants who will be or currently having their initial assessment.

To those applicants, call/email CNO or any regulatory body regarding your concerns because no one here can give you an accurate answer base on your queries, and all are experience-based information.

Goodluck :)

I've already called CNO customer service and they said they both accept Academic or Training IELTS.

Exactly as I remembered. They do accept both module whether it is Academic or General. And if you have completed your nursing education in an english speaking country or you have worked for at least a year in an english speaking country, you will be exempt from the language requirement test.

I know CNO is the only College that accepts General IELTS.
