there's no BET forms anymore? I received the BET form February this year but I still haven't completed it. so what does this mean for me? Am I still supposed to complete and submit it to them? It is the last requirement until they proceed to my assessment.
BET sent to applicants before March this year will still be assessed, I think.. I am also confused sorry. I just called CNO to ask why BET is not included in my package with the option form and other forms. And they told me that from March onwards, BET will not be utilized anymore. Sorry I confused you. But It would be a good idea to confirm this as well with your assessor. Good day! :)

Oh my! BET is the only way for an IEN to be equivalent to a current ontario baccalaureate in Nursing aside from an individual additional education for each applicant. That's too sad, but still hope for the best.
Yes, YOU CAN APPLY FOR ANOTHER ASSESSMENT AS AN RPN while your RN assessment is still on-going.
My piece of advise, if the CNO required you to do the bridging program, do it right away and don't be afraid because after all it will help you to find a better job. REMEMBER: Canadian education counts sooooo BIG!
All the besy to all of you guys :)
I agree! You are not affected with the new method of assessment for RN as long as you sent the option form that they require you :) Goodluck

hi! Do I need to tell CNO that I have an on-going assessment as an RN if I want to subsequently apply for the assessment as an RPN? Do you know someone who already did the same thing? Thank you PiRN! goodluck on your exam! :)

You do know that Ontario's bridging program can be as long as three years? That's how long they wanted my friend to do her bridging program in order for her to register as an RN in their province.
Yup, i know... i have a lots of friends who finished their bridging program, it tooks them 18months, some are 6months, it depends. If you study part time, you will surely takes more months and even years to finish.
In the matter of meeting the equivalency in the CNO. George Brown College offers 12courses to finish and be eligible to take the CRNE, but if you are aiming to have BScN degree go to York Univ. which they offer 18months to finish and eligibility to take the CRNE.
Pls correct me, if I have the wrong info.. :)
Yes! Call the CNO, and ask if you still need to request another assessment kit or you just need to send them other forms and fee, since you already have records in their file... :)

Hi PiRN, yes you are correct for the George Brown info, it's called the Academic Pathway For Graduate Nurses Certificate.
Not sure though 'bout the York Univ. but it sounds good as well.
I advise to do the bridging program because it gives a lot of benefits. It makes you confident and put you on top list among people who don't have any canadian education in regards to being hired to work. :)
It's okay if it would be like this but CNO is the one that chooses for how long you would do your bridging program for. Two of my friends were asked to do their bridging program for 3 years. They tried to go to different nursing schools that offers bridging program and asked if they could do it for a shorter period of time but all schools they inquired with told them they need to be enrolled for three years as that is the directive of the CNO. What I am trying to say is for an international applicant to choose and decide to do bridging program, it is really a gamble on their part. Doing a BP course for 6months or even up to a year I guess is okay but doing it for 3 years is just not practical specially most of these immigrants have limited funds. My two friends are now appealing the decision and have registered and are currently working as an LPN for the time being.
That's sad, I hope for the best :)
