It all depends on your credentials and if I may say the assessor too. Not all BSN from the Philippines are assessed as RPN equivalent. And yes, I have sent another set of application form and fee for my RPN assessment.
Hi pickles
I do not agree that it depends on the assessor. The CNO's assessment practices are not arbitrary, if they were, it would be a violation of the Fair Access to Regulated Professions Act and would result in complaints lodged against the CNO. A study of the registration practices of the CNO, done by the Office of the Fairness Commissioner, shows the CNO is in compliance with the Fair Access to Regulated Proffessions Act. http://docs.fairnesscommissioner.ca/docs/nurses.htm#h2_3_c

hello there, it's about 3 to 4 weeks now that I received a letter from CNO saying they have already received all documents that they need to evaluate my application for the eligibility to take RN exam. I'm confident that they will give me the chance to take this exam. hope and pray they will, aleluia!!!
Thats the spirit! Let us hope for the best. Good luck!

I find that statement quite hard to believe. Health care in Canada is a highly-technical, multi-billion-dollar-a-year tax-payer funded industry with some of the highest standards of care in the world. Canada is also a VERY attractive destination for financial refugees. It only stands to reason that standards for regulated health care professionals would necessarily be very high.
yes, a true statement r.u.serius. i have submitted the BET, course descriptions, transcript of records and diploma from the university, validations of my licenses from Philippines and the US, everything that they require me to submit, it's all there. let's all hope for the best. amen!
I agree with you. Canada and Norway has similar "systems of things"... Their systems are strict also with regards to professional licensing and I find this very positive... for the benefits of their population. In Norway, I was eligible to be a RPN, which I worked as such for a year. Did the bridging and professional LANGUAGE, that took me almost 2 years... after all these hardships and waiting, I was assessed... I got my RN norwegian license! Hopefully I will be eligible for the CRNE since I did the bridging in Norway :) fingers crossing......:redbeathe
go for gold!!! lets keep everyone updated regarding our application... Godbless :)
My advice to IEN's residing in Ontario and waiting to hear CNO's decision, is to hope for the best and have a plan B. If the CNO decides that additional education is required, you may want to check into RBC' s scholarship for internationally educated nurses, information is available on both of these sites
