Hi,
I am planning on having my second baby while I am waiting for the program to begin. My question is if this is crazy of me to have a baby 6-7 months old and 3,5 years old while at school. I am planning to put my older son in a daycare and have help with my little baby. I know this is my decision but I would like to get an advice from moms at school i am almost 32 and don't want to wait another 3-4 years to have another child.
Thank you.

I'll be graduating in 23 days!!! I'm currently 3 months pregnant...good timing right, lol. However, having gone through the stress of nursing school, I would NEVER want to be pregnant and have a baby through it all. So I'm really glad we got pregnant with our last baby when we did. With that said, it'll be hard working and leaving a baby with my babysitter. Being a SAHM was/is very important to me, so this will be a different and difficult experience. I wish you luck with your decision.
Thank you, I appriciate it .
There is a lot to think about :)
Good luck and congratulations !

I think while it isn't "recommended" to try and have a baby during nursing school, I think it is doable if you have a good support system, and maintain flexibility in other areas.
One of my friends started nursing school with a 3 month old. She has done well. Fortunately, she has a very supportive family, and only has to work 2 days a week. Her mother in law is able to watch the baby for her while she at school.
The only time I've seen her overwhelmed was when her son was teething and she was running on very little sleep. She is still able to maintain B's and she is the President of our Student Nurse Association, and is able to keep up with that :).
I also know a girl who had a baby our 4th week of nursing school. She had it on a tuesday and was in clinical that friday!
It won't be easy, but if its what you want, it will be worth it :) Good luck!

My little one was 8 months when I started the program. I actually declined my acceptance in 2008 because I was pregnant. I knew he would come around finals of my first semester... I am glad I waited.
Thank goodness for an awesome sitter who has had previous experience with nursing students. It's important you'll be able to have child care at 5 am.. and sometimes well past 5 pm.
It's doable. I also have an almost 8 year old. With the help of a good husband/daddy, awesome sitter, and amazing grandmother it has been totally doable.
You will miss your kids. You will feel guilty. Just remember you're doing it for not only yourself, but for your whole family! :redpinkhe
I graduate in 12 days!!!
Good luck!!

Hi, this is my second time around in nursing school (LPN first and now RN) with a baby. I started LPN school with a 3 year old and a 2 month old (our mandatory orientation was on his due date and I waddled my butt in there since he was late anyway!). It was difficult, but definitely doable... support is essential! I have an awesome husband who is able to watch the kids while I am in school/studying. I just started RN school in January with a 5 year old, 2 year old and 6 month old. I'm doing well, maintaining my 4.0 GPA so far!
You can do it! Good luck!

i just had my baby girl during my second year of nursing....she came april 12....my exams started april 15, i passed all...i spent the whole year pregnant, and will be back to school in september, its not ideal, but if you have to determination and are organized you can do it. Take all the help you can get and plan out everything little thing accordantly. And make sure you take care of yourself and stay healthy! good luck!
