Hi everyone!
I'm starting this thread for applicants that have submitted/are in the process of submitting their application for Fall 2020. I'm hoping we can all get together and discuss our experiences with the whole application and potential interview process ?
I'm currently in the process of finishing up my application and am extremely nervous about hitting that Submit button once it's finished. I don't have the best overall undergrad GPA, but was able to redeem myself a bit with my pre-reqs GPA. I am hoping that my personal essay and references will help increase my chances of being accepted *fingers crossed*.
The deadline is in exactly a month and I would like to say good luck to everyone!
Hey I made a FB page for the Fall of 2020 cohort. Hope those who have been accepted will join. Would be nice to get to know everyone before the term begins.

Hi! I have been looking through this thread because I applied to the SD campus for Spring 2021. I was wondering if you could share some tips as well as some questions they ask? I have an interview later this month and am SO nervous for the interview and writing portion.
Hi congratulations! The interview was pretty relaxed just asked basis questions like why did you choose APU and why nursing. They go over any missing prerequisites and the writing sample was reading an article then they want a summary of the article as well as what the article was saying. An example I can give is the article I read was about a nursing student who was having a hard time and was so stressed almost gave up but then she talked with her advisor and found that everyone has skills in different areas and don’t give up. It was pretty obvious. I wish you luck! You’ll do fine.

I applied to the IE/main campus on the deadline date and received a call yesterday for an interview. My interview is on Monday!

That’s awesome. Congrats!! I am just trying to get a feel for their interview process/selection criteria. Do you know anything about it? I know there’s a writing portion to it. I am mostly concerned about that. I know it’s an article summary but still it’s nerve wrecking ?

3.7 undergrad (BS) and 3.7 science prereq GPA. I was accepted to San Diego fall of 2020 WITH outstanding prereqs. There are ppl in this thread with low 3's GPA's that have been accepted. Based off my interview and experience they are looking for well rounded applicants with organic volunteer work. Not just a person who is "checking boxes" for admission. Def taking the "whole person" approach.
What's unfair about being accepted with outstanding prereqs? Most universities / programs in California are similar.
