Hi everyone!
I'm starting this thread for applicants that have submitted/are in the process of submitting their application for Fall 2020. I'm hoping we can all get together and discuss our experiences with the whole application and potential interview process ?
I'm currently in the process of finishing up my application and am extremely nervous about hitting that Submit button once it's finished. I don't have the best overall undergrad GPA, but was able to redeem myself a bit with my pre-reqs GPA. I am hoping that my personal essay and references will help increase my chances of being accepted *fingers crossed*.
The deadline is in exactly a month and I would like to say good luck to everyone!

Hi There!
Thanks for starting this thread ? I'm also in the process of applying for the Fall 2020 term. I am in the same boat with the undergrad GPA. Hoping they will take into account that it was over a decade ago, but it is a little concerning. Do you have any other experience that will help (volunteering, etc)?

@NewNurseStudent20 I have been working in Registration in a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department for almost 3 yrs. While I feel like this is great patient-facing experience, it is not a clinical role. My job is to collect information directly from the patient — demographics, insurance, advance directives, admission info, etc; additionally, I input initial chief complaints that are given to me by the nurses. I am currently trying to transfer into a Nurse Assistant or Tech Aid role, but it is taking a long time so I won’t be able to use any of that experience in my application. I’m hoping that I can assure that I understand the role that I am applying for and that whatever experience I do have in a clinical setting really is applicable.
What about you? What type of experience do you have?

I was hoping there would be more comments from others who have also applied to APU ELM program for Fall 2020, but at least this thread is a good start! I would love to stay in contact and keep each other updated as we hear back from admissions regarding interviews, and eventually acceptances! It seems like staying connected with other applicants was super helpful on other threads for previous terms. Can't wait to see how things turn out! Good luck to everyone!

Hello!
I applied to the APU ELM program for Fall 2020 for the Inland Empire campus! It would be great to be able to stay in contact throughout this process! I know the deadline was only 2 days ago, but has anyone heard anything yet? Good luck!

I haven't heard anything yet... based on posts from Fall 2019 applicants it seems like they started hearing about interviews starting mid-October through November! It seemed to vary a lot though, so it could happen outside of that window too!
Congrats on applying, and good luck!

I applied for Fall 2020 as well. I do have patient care experience as a Lifestyle Educator at Kaiser, as well as my CNA, CHHA, and RNA. I'm hoping that experience will help! I also work per diem as an MA in a Pediatric clinic. My science GPA is lower than I would like, as I had a C+ in A/P I that I retook and got an A at a different school (I did my undergrad in CT but now live in CA). But APU requires that both A/P I and II are done at the same school, so they won't count the A in the GPA. I'm hoping with my work experience in the hospital, Nutrition internship, and hospice volunteer hours that it will help balance my science GPA. My pre req GPA is fairly good (3.84. You just never know what they are looking for! Sure hope interview notifications come soon!!

Hey I received an interview invite on Oct. 7, however I did submit my application really early and I believe they do send out more than one round of invites.
