Azusa ELM Summer 2016

Nursing Students NP Students

Hello prospective NP students!

I wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to APU ELM program for the 2016 academic year! We can talk about anything you guys want! Your status, GPA, stats, interviews, and application process!

I just finished applying and speaking with the advisor!

Best of luck for everyone!

I did receive that email, but no interview. I was kind of bummed but I turned in my application in time. I contacted the advisor but she let me know that the nursing school will contact me. I guess I wasn't chosen for an interview

I did turn everything in on time and confirmed the completion by phone and email. I'm a bit frustrated because I really wanted an interview but unfortunately it's not my time. Did anyone else not get an interview?

@milianne I haven't gotten an email or heard anything. I thought they only accept people who they interview? I'm guessing if I haven't heard anything by now I won't be getting an interview

@milianne what campus did you apply too?

Azusa the main campus

ooh okay. I applied to the IE campus. At this point im not too sure what to expect.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any other BSN or MSN programs which accept APU's online science courses? I'm planning my plan B in case I don't get accepted into the 2016 cohort.

Thanks,

Yuyu :)

National University may take the online science courses, but I would definitely check with them..Although I'm sure they would still make you do the lab courses. It's a "non-profit' but it's still money driven. They are my Plan B for a BSN. If you speak with a counselor to confirm, though, make sure that it's by email so you have a record. Good luck!

I'm completely guessing here but I got a call within 3-4 weeks to setup an interview. I'm not sure if July 1st was before July 1st or if it included that day as well. My rule of thumb is if I don't feel like I got a great answer from one person, I'll call back and try to get someone on the line that will give me better answer. My experience has been really pleasant with communication. I was really upfront with where I was at with everything, what I was trying to accomplish and asked for help to make sure nothing fell through the cracks. I'd follow-up with them, ask them if the application was complete, if they received all the transcripts and if all the LOR's came in. They should be able to look in the system and tell you if anything is missing. Lastly I'd ask them if they have already conducted all the interviews and if you weren't contacted for an interview, what that actually means. I hope that advice helps.

@chemshark, thanks for the reply

My pleasure YUYU1219! :jester:

BTW, I was doing some research and found that Western Governor's University also accepts online courses generously. However, they don't hand out GPAs so be wary if grad school is important to you. You would graduate with pass/no pass record which may translate to a 3.0 though (depending on the grad school). I like it because you can do it online while keeping your job.

@chemshark, Thanks again, low and behold, their ad is on this page, thanks Google!

@everyone, this wait is excruciating, hurry up September! Hating the unknown!

Is anyone currently working full-time? Would anyone have to move to SD if accepted?
